Verry good

I would have given 5 stars for video quality , but only 3 because the box arrived broken. The packaging wasn't was not enough rigid.

This is/was a old school click bait style movie IMHO, and I did click because I hoped it would follow the novel, but it absolutely did not.. Maybe because even during this new artistic film making period the attempt just fell way short, or just a marketing ploy..The film failed miserably, I had to stop watching after about 25 minutes because to me it was just woeful and pathetic "click bait", the acting was amateurish and it was obvious that the click bait was for the opportunity to see Tyrone Power's daughter nude, which I could realistically understand for some, but that didn't happen in the first 25 minutes either.. There were a great many semi-nude scenes in the first 25 but a angle or hair covered up.. Good for dad if he had anything to do with that, but no way a semi-nude MC will fly in this author's novel ....How can I say this, the novel was seriously intense, but in the novel there is/was a real story for those who aren't to delicate to be exposed to what can and does and did happen in real life to many women, men and children oppressed by the extremely wealthy and powerful religious male dominance during the historical era the novel was based/written..And indeed tragically still occurs currently each and every day from to many bad players in the dark secrecy and protection provided to powerful religions!I probably suck at being a critic, but wasn't trying to be, just my personal take on the film..

Lame copy. Lame version of story compared to others. Content and quality lacking. Even for what it is. Disappointed..

I love this movie and find Romina Power to be utterly captivating as Justine. Jack Palance gives an intense performance and Klaus Kinski as the Marquis De Sade is brilliant casting choice. Watch it already!

Zum einen interessierte mich die Literaturverfilmung eines Werkes von Marquis de Sade und zugegeben, auch die Jugendsünde der späteren braven Duett- und Ehepartnerin von Al Bano.Der Regisseur Franco hat allerlei Schund zu verantworten, insofern waren meine Erwartungen gedämpft. Aber irgend jemand muss ihm einen Etat zugebilligt haben, der es ihm ermöglichte, Stars wie Sylva Koscina und Klaus Kinski als Marquis de Sade zu engagieren.Kinski macht sogar das Herumsitzen in einer Gefängniszelle noch zum Ereignis. Im Gegensatz dazu das unbedarfte, naive Spiel der damals völlig unbekannten Romina Power, Tochter des Schauspielers Tyrone Power. Genau dies passt aber zur Rolle der Justine, die sie zu spielen hat.In opulenten Bildern wird die Geschichte zweier Schwestern erzählt, wobei die der Juliette nur so nebenher in einigen wenigen Szenen angerissen wird.Fazit: Die Tiefe der Literaturvorlage wird nicht erreicht, Jess Franco malt schwülstige Bilder und Romina Power zeigt allen, was später nur noch Al Bano zu sehen bekam...
