Gainsborough10.5 kW Replacement Shower Engine

I have used these shower units for years. My previous unit was over ten years old and developed a fault, so I decided to replace the whole unit. This option of just buying the replacement part is economical, saves on waste and additional plastic which is not required. The total process took me about 30 min, ensuring that the electrics and water are both off, removing the cover, three screws to unattach the unit, three electrical connections and the unit pulls away from the water connection. re assemble. Job done. A simple DIY.I was also really impressed with the delivery, which only took two days.

it replaced the unit i had before at a snip of the price of the original as allready had the housing and took only 10 minutes to install .excellent item

I love the fact that you can replace the shower 'engine' on these shower units without having to move pipe work around to accommodate a new/ different shower

This is a shower engine only and should be straight forward,I took old one out and fitted new one in no problem only it didnt work ni hit water only cold,I've been in touch with the seller but they are saying via email to wait for 2 days before they get back to me and up to 10 days for replacement,12 days without a shower is a massive inconvenience,its just not good enough,telling me it will be 10 days by Royal Mail when Pacel force delivered the other one in less than 2 days,I'm not happy at all.

We are on our third 10.5 Shower having had two complete units previously over the last ten years. On this occasion when a leak developed we just went for replacement innards thus avoiding wasted bits as the unit is very good - hence we have had yet another. Three units may seem a lot but it's used umpteen times a week and other units previously didn't take the useage.Can't fault Gainsborough units. The displaced unit as it happened only needed a couple of replacement 'o' rings to cure the leak and it's now a spare

I’ve had quite a few of these as they seem to only have a lifespan of around 3 years. When working it’s a great shower. The price has shot up by around 30% or so since I last bought one in 2016. Perhaps a loyalty discount for regular customers like me should be available? Good, quick service continues from the Amazon supplier.
