Masterchem Industries 45140 Hammered Paint, Black

I first heard of Hammerite paint through and industrial contact; they use it for machinery where the finish needs to hold up. I got hold of a gallon some time ago, and painted my cellar window covers, which were beginning to rust, and now, 8 years later, they still look good. So I decided to buy this, in black, to repaint the wrought iron on my garden gate. I've used the spray paint brand that we all know and love, but on wrought iron, that wears off. This must be brushed on, and since it's oil based, it's hard to clean off your hands (and just lose the painting clothes if you make a mistake there), but the stuff really works. It is my understanding that Hammerite encapsulates whatever rust has started to form, so it can't bleed through and cause your metal to continue to rust, and that seems to be the case with my window covers. I hope to see it still in perfect condition on my gate even after several Northeastern winters.

This stuff is great, i dont know long term durability yet but it covers great and feels super strong. I will be buying more.

Paint was was expired and outdated when received. Didn’t notice until after we had began painting.

just put on my car trailer, its more grey then black but thats fine looks like a new trailer. highly reccomend

Hammerite black paint has been my favorite ornamental iron paint for many years. It is long lasting,covers extremely well, and leaves a remarkable professional finish that stands out.

Used it before great product. Sprays well cleans well and looks good. Can be used on many things indoor or outdoor.

This is the best paint for outdoor use that I have ever seen.
