Masterchem Industries 44235 Smooth Flat Paint, Black

I have used this stuff for several years now. I have painted directly to rust, and also clean metal with the same or very similar results. It is superior and sometimes cheaper than other rust paints (or rust encapsulators) but there are a few things you must know.1) This paint is thick, I would not recommend thinning it. As you work with it the brush will get fairly gummed up. This is normal.2) It dries fast. If you don't move quickly you will be gluing bristles to whatever it is that your painting.

What you see pictured is a steel column after less than 6 months of being primed and then painted with Hammerite by professionals. Hammerite does do better than Rustoleum from my experience but if you are in salt air environment, don't count on it being bulletproof.

Just what I needed

Paint is a little thicker than I expected but works great. Has a great finish to it and is very durable.

The paint went on good,but dries very fast. After 30 seconds the paint seems hard to move. The smell is a little bit strong, I painted 2 fire escapes at my house.

We've been using this paint for several years on metal (mostly on outside wrought iron) . It works well and goes right on over rust. It holds up well too,

Worked really well on frame for C10 would recommend it to anyone doing a truck or car restoration easy to apply
