Cost effective
As described, can't knock it. Ideally there would be SDK guidance as not really beginner territory, but everything you need is there.Mostly rating for their customer support.

Very bad product
This product has a lot of errors and the technical team failed to answer my questions. They are not even responding to me properly. Very bad product. They keep on giving an excuse saying that it's holiday time. I seriously recommend not to buy this product.

Good and solid long range UHF RFID scanner
This RFID scanner does exactly what to expect. The reading distance has pleasantly surprised me, but off course the limitations of RFID tags icm with obstacles has to be taken in account. But initial field tests with RFID tags on name badges worked very well. The API currently available is 32bit and written with .dll libraries, so not suitable for other platforms. However, if configuration is done using the demo software on a Window system (successfully on Windows 10 64bit) then the reader can output the tag ID's to RS232 (or other interfaces) without any need to write the communications protocols from scratch. That works perfectly for me on a Raspberry Pi and a Java application to communicate with my backend system. Tags can be written with the Demo software once in 'Answer' mode.Support is prompt and helps to solve any questions and problems.

Do not ever buy this chafon 6M medium Range UHF Reader as it not at all useful. They are giving excuses as they have Chinese new year holiday when asked for technical support . It is of no use investing so much of money.
