Cut like a hot knife through butter
I ordered and used these scissors for cutting through a very thick insulated roofing felt and they proved to be up to the job. I had been using kitchen scissors for this before which left quite a jagged finish as they were unable to cut in one go. The Smith Chu item has been very effective, allowing me to follow a drawn line on the underlay with little difficulty. They arrived with an additional pair of clippers which are useful in the garden for cutting herbs. The only issue I had was that I thought I was being sent an inferior product as the box was not very clearly labelled Smith Chu. Very happy with this purchase.

Big, strong and sharp - watch those fingers!
These are great scissors – I am keeping mine for when I need to cut something tough and with precision. They are not pretty, but they mean business. Not the sort of scissors to give to a small child to make paper-chains! In a range of cutting instruments, these are probably the step below tin-snips (for cutting sheet metal).

Disappointing
I was really looking forwards to receiving these scissors but was hugely disappointed when I got them. They are sharp yes but they look and feel very cheap. I returned them.

Sharp at first
Well I hope this pair lasts longer than last pair! They are very sharp at first and easy to handle (used for heavy upholstery fabrics) last pair lasted 3 months, first pair I bought lasted a lot longer so fingers crossed.
