Works great!
Works as advertised. If you want to continuously run your Honda generator for days without refueling, this is the best way to do it!

VERY useful and works well
I have a Honda EU2000i generator that this tank is connected to. About 6 months after I got the tank I had to use it. We had a tornado near my house and tons of trees were ripped up. We were without power for 3 or 4 days. I ran a few lights and our refrigerator on the generator and it ran non-stop the whole time. Only had to put gas in the tank because it was low.07/21/2015 update: I originally bought this in February of 2013. For the first year it was in my garage, with my generator, and I used it a couple times when power went out. Worked very well. Now I have it mounted on my Cricket Trailer to not only extend the use of the generator (which is also mounted on the trailer) but also serve as spare fuel for my van when towing the trailer. It's been outdoors now for over a year and is holding up perfectly. I do have it covered, protected from the sun, with a canvas cover.

WORKED AS SOLD FOR ME
I have run 2 tanks through my generator.....works as advertised....Awesome Upgrade!!I will probably put in a manual pressure valve in the tank to regulate the hot summer pressure buildup

It works
I was hesitant to buy because of the reviews. For me, I hooked it up, put a gallon of test fuel in it, half filled the Honda 2000 and cranked it up. The tank fed the generator when it got low on fuel just like it is supposed to. Now, we can run fans, lights, and TV for days versus hours. Since I have 2 Hondas, I could fire up the second one if necessary, refill the auxiliary tank and have another several days, or run more stuff(like the frig at that point might be needed)

IPI Industries Extended Run Generator System
I have to admit I could have made this myself and even parted out the parts. I could have bought a tank, hose and a cap for about $60, but thought well for the extra $40 it will all just work and the parts will all fit. When I first got the tank all the parts seemed to be there and in order. I then filled everything up and gave it a try. Much to my surprise I found the genset stopped with it's tank empty and the spare tank full with no fuel gone at all. So I thought well maybe it is like a boat tank and needs the cap more than just "open" so I loosened the extra tank cap and gave it another shot. Nope still no fuel pulled from the spare tank. So then I thought well maybe it should be slightly above the genset so I set the spare tank on a single step step stool. 20 minutes later I check and the spare tank was empty and gas was everywhere all over the genset and all over the ground. So now I knew I had a problem and started checking all the parts and fitting to find the seal on the cap that came with the tank was not cut correctly and not sealing. I went and bout a new seal and now it seems to have worked.I did contact the company and exchanged some email and they said they would send over some new part, but I never heard from them again. I should have just built it myself from the start and saved the $ which is a shame because it would have been nice had it worked from the start. I still haven't gotten a good draw or for it to work for more than one tank so I can't trust it will work when I really need it to.So therefore I can not recommend this product to anyone.

Excellent product, works flawlessly
Updated 23-03-12I'm increasing my rating to 4 for this product. To get it to work reliably, you need to open the filler cap by a turn to provide for venting. When you do that, it works flawlessly. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is that the requirement to open the filler cap for venting should be included with the instructions.==================/This unit is perfectly designed for what I want, extended time operation for my Honda EU2000i generator. The construction seems solid, and it's got a nice slick appearance. I particularly appreciate the inclusion of the "quick disconnect" between the tank and the generator. The only problem is, I couldn't get it to work. I ran a test after hooking it up, and the generator died as soon as it ran out of its "onboard" fuel. How do you open the vent on this unit? Or is there one? Does the original cap from the generator itself (including the vent control) fit on this tank? Neither the instructions nor the company demo vid address this issue. Some people have suggested just opening the cap on the tank a bit, and that will serve as the vent. I'll try that, but this seems...inelegant. Is there a better solution? My rating will go up substantial once I actually get it to work, but I haven't gotten any kind of definitive answer about how to do that yet!TCS

Great product
I think this is the best extension kit out there, if you think you can make it cheaper buying all the parts, do your self a favor don't. This is plug and play great quality and the quick release is my fav all stainless i use it on my boat and so far its been great.

Just what I was looking for.
I read all of the reviews prior to purchasing this tank along with the response from the company on the bad reviews. Here is my experience: First, this tank looks like it was made specifically for the Honda 2000 series of generator. I had no trouble with the threads mating up or any part of the installation. Second, the first night we used it the temperature dropped to 17degrees and I had no gas line freeze up. I have learned to run nothing in my small engines except 90+ octane fuel and to avoid gasoline with any ethanol. Third, it holds a little over 6 gallons of fuel so running my generator all night was no issue. Yes, the tank does swell but it did not leak anywhere. I did bleed it whenever I added fuel but the swelling is part of the design as it is now illegal to vent fuel tanks directly into the atmosphere, same as on my car.
