Einhell Lawn and Garden Spreader, 12L, 45cm Scatter Width

This spreader fits together quickly and is good value for the price. I'd like to afford a self-propelled seed+ spreader but this is a cheap and effective alternative. It seems flimsy but that's because it needs to be light for carrying the weight of seed or sand you may be spreading. The adjustment of the release mechanism seems a bit hit or miss but I haven't used it enough yet to determine how useful that is for different materials. However it's a good tool and one I'll be making a lot of use this season resuscitating a big lawn after this hot dry spell we've had. I expect there are millions of gardeners in the same position as me.

Relatively easy to assemble. Works well. Only problem is determining the right spreader setting. Instructions say this is "easy to determine". It isn't. Even when you have done their practical experiment (plastic sheet on floor: wheel spreader for 2.3m; weigh what has been spread over that 1m2; compare with manufacturer's recommendations; they don't then say by how much you should adjust the spreader lever. That said, this is probably the case with all spreaders unless they are specially adapted to the particular product. i.e. consider getting a miracle gro spreader for miracle gro material.

Excellent Spreader. Not much to say her except that the spreader works very well and was easy to assemble. Should have bought one sooner!

Although quite robust and Ok to assemble, trying to calibrate it has been a nightmare.. I need to spread my lawn feel at the rate of 35g per sq metre, no1 gave 5grm. No 2 gave 17g, the next slot no 3 gave 84g,!!! So to cover my large lawn I will have go over twice to give it required measurements.

Does a nice job

I find this really useful to spread nutrients or treatments over my lawn. There is some trial and error when it comes to determining the setting for any give product, but once that's correct (very easy to adjust) the spreader works well. Assembly instructions are poor. I despair of people who know a product well producing manuals with photographs that are too close to give context, so end-users don't really know what they are on about. Two tips; Look closely at the phot of the completed product before you assemble, and put the front foot on before the handles - it's much easier to manipulate that way.

Seems well made easy to assemble. Used it for feed and seed and did a good job. I was pleased to see the wheels are screwed on which was a problem with my old one which were just push on and eventually started to fall off which made me have to replace it.

I bought this Lawn Spreader to use with Miracle Grow 4 in 1 lawn treatment, which stated that a maximum of 35 grams per 1 metre square should be applied. My lawn is 16 metres long and the spreader trough is 450 mm wide, therefore an overall area of 7.2 metres square metres and 252 grams per strip. I therefore weighed the spreader empty and then added a good amount of treatment to the trough and weighed the spreader again. On the side of caution I set the spreader to the lowest setting No 1. After a complete strip, I weighed the spreader again to find that only 15 grams had been used, I did the same on setting 2 and a further 60 grams had been used, I did the same on setting 3 and a further 115 grams had been used, totalling 190 grams, still well short of the 250 grams. Rather than taking any chances I decided to do a new strip on setting No 4 and to my horror 540 grams had been used, over double the recommended amount. I then did the 3rd strip on setting 3 and this time 160 grams was used albeit before o this setting 115 grams was used. As there was no consistency whatsoever, I treated rest of the lawn on setting 3. In my opinion there are 2 major design faults with this spreader 1) there is no way of controlling the treatment until you put the spreader at rest and turn the leaver on/off on the trough, so when you get to the end of each pass the treatment is still coming out. 2) there is also no mechanism within the trough that feeds the treatment through the holes, allowing clogging and inconsistent levels of treatment being applied. I have since looked at my friend's spreader which has both these features and was bought from a local garden centre for a few pounds more. 4 days after the application I now have a seriously burnt lawn. I unfortunately I disposed of the box on the day I used the spreader making it difficult to return and have therefore decided to dispose of the spreader, as in my opinion it is useless.

Utilizzato per spargere semi o concime, fa il suo lavoro ad un prezzo accessibile!! Consiglio di fare prima alcune prove su un nylon per regolare bene l'erogazione. Io al contrario di altri non ho avuto alcun problema! Non posso che consigliarlo!

Très bien pour un épandage régulier d'engrais sur une pelouse..évite les brûlures d'herbe lors d'un épandage irregilier à la volée...

Not happy with this product as the holes through which the fertiliser is meant to drop are way too small. Tried to spread Dynamic Lifter Lawn food with this unit but nothing came out. Yes, I adjusted it to the largest holes but still nothing. Not happy as I cant use this with any Granulated fertiliser or lawn food. Will try with powder fertiliser but dont think that I am going to have much success. No, I dont recommend.

Delivery was very fast. Assembling was easy. You fasten the wheels with a screw. The slot does not allow the wheels to move on the bar because of one flat side! This is a great feature. And the wheels have a cover so the screw and bar stay clean. Wheels ✔️ Then you fasten the foot on which the body rests when not in use. One screw only. And the part fits perfectly into the main body and holds the screw in place for easy fixing. Footrest ✔️ Then you slide the bars of the handles in place. The fasten with a click. Handel ✔️ Last you put the Gripp on the adjustment bar. Adjustment Grip ✔️ Time for assembly less than 5 minutes! Ready, steady and go! It works exactly like it should. Even distribution of content (for me salt). There is a rolling mill attached to the wheelbar that run across the whole bottom pushing the content to the wholes for distribution. Because the side walls are slanted the content automatically falls toward the rolling mill. Altogether well planned for smooth and easy use. I'm absolutely thrilled and I'd buy it again and again when needed.

Wheel is cracked. Hard to return so I used the glue and got it fixed
