I had another cast iron cleaner that I liked very much, but I couldn't buy that separate without duplicating the brush etc. The other thing is that the original cleaner I had was a thicker texture, so squeezing it out of the container was more difficult as the level got lower. This more liquid texture is much easier for that, and still as effective for cleaning. And it's nice having an oil that isn't as heavy as other oils for storage. If I had one complaint, and it's minor, is that the oil has a touch of a fishy smell to it. But it doesn't translate to taste/cooking, and isn't overpowering. So I can live with that. Also, my 97 year old Mom just got a small cast iron pan, so I gift her this set, specifically because I knew she could get this cleaner out of the bottle without having to have hand strength. She loves it. Says her used pan looks like new and all without re seaasoning.

This is unbelievable! So easy to use and works like a miracle! Wish I had taken a pic of how it looked before. Trust me I have used this three times and never seasoned it. So you can imagine how it looked: dry and rusty. Definitely follow the directions for seasoning though. This is what gives it that beautiful shiny black look.

The soap does make a difference. You just have to soak for some time. The oil, meh. You are not supposed to use it with heat, and a regular oil + heat does a much better job.

Does exactly what you want & need with cast iron! A gentle and cleaning for those tough situations when dinner leaves a lingering odor (fish). I still don’t use the cleaner on every use to maintain a deeper seasoning, every 3-4 uses is about average. The oil is ideal, light and not sticky, no residual flavor and no odor. I’m buying more and haven’t even made it halfway through the first bottles!

This wasn’t what I was expecting. I’ve used both the soap and oil on my cast iron and I really don’t see any difference from using coarse salt and a chain scrubber with a coating of olive oil. It doesn’t do a worse job I just probably wouldn’t purchase this again when I can get the same results with stuff I already have in my cabinets.

When a disaster happens and one needs to start from scratch seasoning your cast iron I have found this to be a great way to start the journey to a successful outcome. Fallow general online videos of your choice to get to the point where you develop cooking techniques that you no longer need this product. Seasoning takes time and patients, this product gets it all started in the right direction.

I don't get a chance to use the Cleanser (right now only have one specialty cast iron pan) BUT I use the Conditioner frequently - every day actually - on my pricey 8" and 10" no stick fry pans to keep them "healthy" -- it really works! Only takes a few small drops - rub it in and they are good to go for the next time. Actually I think I will start using the Cleanser on them, too!

I really like this set for maintaining my cast iron. When I was normally clean my pans, it seems like I am always starting the seasoning process over. With this product, it's more like I am 'maintaining' my seasoning. I wash with the conditioner and follow up with the oil. The oil is light and does not get sticky like everything else I've used. Will buy again and again.
