Does not assemble properly for left return
The desk seems sturdy and will suit my purposes. I can't comment on how it was to assemble because I had someone else put it together. In the question section, someone had asked if the desk could be assembled for both left and right return and was told yes. I wanted it as a left return so I went ahead a bought it. Well, it only assembles as a right return. If you set it up with the hutch over the section without the cabinet, if you sit at the part with the cabinet (which puts the cabinet in the way of your legs), then I guess you could call it a left return. But if you truly want it as a left return with the hutch over the section with the cabinet and the other section being the desk part, you're out of luck.

Great desk and easy to read instructions.
Love this desk! It was incredibly easy to put together thanks to the instructions. I had no damage pieces and is good quality.

Beautiful and worth every penny
So I’ll start by saying this is really heavy furniture and takes two people too lift. I’ll add it’s well worth the struggle of lifting it. It took some time to assemble as expected. I loves how the hardware were labeled in steps. So cool. It made things so much easier. It it exactly as pictured and a beautiful piece of furniture. Enjoy

I love this desk.
The media could not be loaded. Just an all around beautiful desk! My fiancé set it up for me and it did take him quite awhile to do. But he was able to do it himself and he said it wasn’t that bad. The hutch part isn’t as sturdy, but the cool thing about it was the seller stated it could be assembled on either side if I wanted it to. I will by brackets to enforce the hutch myself (not much of an added cost at all). I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The desk design and color are so pleasing and it matches the pictures you see online. LOVE IT! (I will add that the desk I purchased came with all the necessary tools and the instructions were fairly easy to read. I order the L-shaped desk and the filing cabinet. Still waiting for the bookcase to arrive but I’m sure that will be just as easy, if not easier, to assemble).

Great instructions!!! Nice hardware packaging based on steps!
I built it all by myself!!! Took me 2 hours while the baby was napping and 1 more after dinner to complete the whole thing. The instructions were very easy to follow and the hardware came in very convenient packaging. It was almost fun building this! I was a bit overwhelmed at first but once I got started it all came together very nicely! My husband was happy that he didn't have to bother building it because I did it all by myself!

Beautiful and easier to assemble than expected desk and hutch.
OMG! I absolutely love this desk! I purchased it as a home office desk now that I am working from home. The packaging for shipping was done very well and I had no damage to the boxes for the desk and the hutch. Assembly was easier than expected, but still allow yourself a couple hours. The assembly direction booklets are easy to follow. Having an electric drill will be handy and faster instead of a manual screwdriver. Desk and hutch are sturdy and exactly as pictured after assembly is completed. This is a very beautiful and functional desk/hutch!

One of Easiest to Assemble
Over the years, I have assembled many 'mail order' furniture items(thanks honey...). By far, this has been the easiest to assemble. The contents of the box were packaged amazingly well. Everything was carefully wrapped and separated by Styrofoam. Each part is clearly identified and numbered. I really like how they separated out the hardware for each step. Each step has its own, clearly numbered, bag of screws/parts.Assembly Advice:When you open the box, you may be shocked at the number of parts. Separate and lay out the parts. The more space that you have to spread them out, the better.

For the Price, You Can't Beat It!
I'm going to break this review down to the most important bits of information: the quality of the lumber, the quality of the hardware, how it is setting up the desk, and how the finished product feels. TL;DR: the quality of the materials, hardware, and instructions for putting the desk together were fantastic!THE LUMBERIt's good; there are a couple small issues I ran into. The color of the laminated finish is great, the finish was put on fairly well, it's obviously particle board for the price, and there are stickers on every piece that allow you to easily identify which board you need when in the manual. The way I designate if a particle board piece of furniture is by asking, "assuming I have the tools to make the furniture from scratch as well as the plans for free, is it less expensive than buying good quality lumber and hardware form Menards?" I'm very happy to report that the purchase and shipment of this ENTIRE desk set costs around the ball park of buying JUST the red oak to make a desk of the same dimensions! The issues I ran into were:(1) There were a couple stickers that actually peeled the finish off under and around them. Thankfully, this only happened to one piece that you can readily see as the others were naturally covered up, but it's still a bummer.(2) There were a couple dings out of the box. This could have been done out of the factory, during shipping, or during my unboxing, so I'm not counting them as a negative, more as a thing to look out for when unboxing the item to at least negate the possibility of yourself causing the imperfections.THE HARDWARE:This is the easiest part of the product to review. This is the best set of hardware I have been given for a desk of this price range! They use the higher-quality all-metal latching mechanisms for putting sections of the desk together as well as include metal plates for added rigidity. I purchased an antique-styled writing desk with hutch from Wayfair that was around 2/3 of the size and had similar quality lumber but had the far less sustainable plastic/metal latching mechanisms for putting sections of the desk together that just don't hold up well over time. Now for the bad:(1) The drawer is all right (the rails are very cheap, which I'm fine with).(2) The door doesn't close without scraping the bottom of the cabinet during the entirety of its closing. No matter how I adjusted the height or offset of the hinges, it always does this and have chalked it up to just a processing error when making it. Whether it's something that affects every desk or just happened to mine, I'm not sure; just keep it in mind!(3) They do NOT include extra screws. This is good from the manufacturer's standpoint to save money, but lead to me being short one screw - worse yet, it was one of the four screws holding the sides of the drawer together. I'm going to go to Menards to pick up another similar screw, but I'm a bit disappointed that I had to do that in the first place. I'm okay doing it, but if I'm buying a set of something, I'd fully expect that set to be complete. To be fair, it was a minor item money-wise, but now I have to drive there, find it, buy a set of them because they don't sell just one, and now have a bunch of extra screws I may not need for a long time.SETTING IT UP:The instructions were fantastic and the labels made finding the pieces very easy! The main box is very heavy. I don't consider myself very strong, but I'm certainly a bit stronger than the average person, and I could not bring it up the stairs by myself due to its shape and weight. If it had cut-out handles on one of the long edges of the box, I could just deadlift the box and lift it a bit to more easily move it around. However, you're getting quite the desk for your money, so I don't consider it an issue, just more of a precaution.THE FINISHED PRODUCT:This is the happiest I've been with a non-pre-assembled particle board piece of furniture! It's solid, the finish turned out nice, and the quality of the hardware is great. The wife lovers her new desk and it complements my scratch-built wall-to-wall bookcase very nicely!REASONS FOR FOUR STARS AND NOT FIVE:The stickers cause the finish to peel off with them sometimes, I was short an important screw, there are no extra screws, and the door on the cabinet always scrapes the bottom of the desk.
