We burn two candles in the dining room from vespers to bedtime, 365 days a year. I have been buying another well-known US brand in boxes of 12 for years. When I saw that these Bolsius 12-inch ivory candles, produced both in Norway and Poland, were offered on Amazon at nearly ⅓ of the price I have been accustomed to paying, I decided to take a blind chance and order a box - what to loose? I compared the two brands for a week, one of my customary US-made candles and one of the new Bolsius, both lit side by side. The results were very convincing and I have just ordered five more boxes of the Bolsius. Both candles burned at the same measured speed and with the same intensity of flame and both were odorless. The Bolsius candle does not drip at all; the Colonial Candle brand, although touted to be dripless, did indeed drip all over my candelabra and even onto my table below, each time and every time. The one very slight difference between the Colonial and the Bolsius is that the base (about 1-inch length at the base) of the US candle is slightly wider in diameter than its body so it can be wedged into the candelabra and adjusted perfectly upright. The Bolsius candle has the same diameter throughout and fits a little more loosely into the aperture of the candelabra, not a bother at all for me, but someone more particular might want to purchase a plastic or tin foil candle collar to render the candle-candelabra fit slightly more snug. Bolsius 12" candles actually measure 11 ⅜ ". Other than this, the Bolsius is a great candle at a dramatically lower price and I am pleased to have found these here on Amazon where I do all my comparing and most of my shopping.

I decided to use "Dinner Candles" to improve the experience at dinner time with my dear wife, enhancing our focus and attention on each other. The idea was not mine (I read about it), but surely has a positive impact. This led to shopping for candles. There are far too many candle options in the world, in my opinion. Nevertheless, I settled on these as my permanent choice. Bolsius makes a good variety of candles. I tried, and very much like their taper candles; very pretty and dress a table nicely. After a while, I wanted to try their straight (not tapered) candles, so I got the 12hour candles. The straight candles are my favorite, though all, from Bolsius, seem to burn without dripping or stinking-up the place, as you can see in the attached photo. I don't want perfumed candles. I don't want to smell candles burning. I just want the feeling, focus and mood of candle-lit dinners. To get the results I get consistently, you need to... Mount the candles straight up vertically. Trim the wick to about 1/2" and keep it there, throughout the burn! Avoid drafts that stir the flame. Bolsius uses 2 different kinds of wax in their candles. The main fuel is the core of the candle. It burns as it should and slightly faster that the outside layer, which is a bit 'harder' and burns more slowly than the core (see photo). This layered method allows the molten wax to burn in a small pool, inside the harder outside rim and not drip. I mean NO DRIPPING in 12 hours of burn time... Awesome! Beautiful flame. No Stink. No Smoke (when trimmed correctly). No Dripping. No Brainer.

These take about 12 hours to burn down, with little to no dropping down the sides. We go through a box in about six weeks. Every so often, we get a “dud.” Meaning, a candle that burns down in about four hours with a a lot of dripping down the sides. This happens about once in every three boxes. In other words, I’ve found these candles to be of exceptional quality.

These candles were lite for 9 hours in a draft free room. Not one drip. I had 2 other candles from a different company that burned down and dripped all over my brass candle stick holders in 4 hours. I’ve read reviews that they drip and any candle will when in a drafty area. I have used these candles for over a year now and not one drip ever. The ivory is very nice. These are definitely worth the price and I always have confidence that they will burn evenly, and drip free. I will never purchase another brand of candles.

perfect; great product, great price. I now light candles for myself, not just for company as in lockdown I don't get much company...the candles are beautiful, burn well and I like the drips. When I give presents of antique candlesticks - had to buy 100 for my kid's wedding a few years ago - I include a box of a dozen candles from this company andget lots of sincere thank yous. Much better price then stores and candles always match

In the course of a year my wife and I consume numerous stick candles dining with family and friends. We have tried several brands but most drip wax down the stick and wax can be a pain to remove. If you mount these perfectly vertical and do not trim the wick after use they do not drip. No drip extends working life of the candle and is aesthetically more pleasing. It's best if you LIGHTLY blow them out rather than use a candle snuffer as the device has a tendency to damage the outer crown that the hot liquid wax rests in while lit. Good luck and enjoy!

If I could give the review a zero star, I would. Ordered three boxes specifically relying on description of the product. I was having a big party with 40 people and ordered over 150 candles with expectations of burn time at least an hour hours. Within 20 minutes of them being lit the whole table set up was ruined by the mess this candles made.they started to drip all over and it ruined the glass (photo attached) Would never buy these candles again.

I was tired of burning cheap candles that always made a mess with drippings. Unfortunately, good candles are VERY pricey. I very nearly paid $50 for 10 candles but decided to dog a little deeper for info. And I am so glad I did. These are truly wonderful candles! They burn long and evenly without any annoying drips and they are less than half the price of competitive candles. These are worth your money. Excellent buy!!

You cannot go wrong with Bolsius candles. I have used them for a long time. They do not drip and if you buy the household candles they burn for AGES and throw out an amazing light. 22 mm are the ones to go for if a nice long burn is required. Love them! I am happy with my purchase. I'd had them before and when I first tried one, this time, I was horrified at the drip ---- my mistake... they did not like the fan I had going at the time. All is good and I'm sure I'll order again.
