Q: What is the diameter of the screw?

Hi Amy, the diameter of the screw is 3/32". On the back of the packaging there is installation instructions which recommend drilling a 2.5mm diameter x 25mm deep hole (3/32" x 1" deep). This is where the swivel ball is screwed on and then the swivel socket glide is pressed on / attached.

Q: Would these work on chairs that mostly sit on carpet but then slide back onto hardwood floors? The carpet usually just removes regular felt pads.

Hello, we do not recommend these for use on carpet. These felt glides are designed for use on hard surface floors only.

Q: do these come in brown color

These are chocolate brown in color; otherwise, we do make another swivel glide that is color caramel brown but has a plastic base instead of felt (see Slipstick model CB210).

Q: Would this work with metal leg dining chairs if they already have a .5in diamater screwed in plastic ball on the bottom of the legs?

They will probably work but I would NOT recommend them! The felt bottom wore down within a month and we ended up with marks on our new floor!! Also, the swivel portion tends to fall off. Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures of them before we got rid of the chairs.
