Fantastic TV
This TV is so bright, it will blind you at night. The picture is so amazingly lifelike, it is not a TV, it is a window into another world. Fantastic HDR TV, inky black and could easily pass for an OLED TV. Can't ask for more!

Great TV. Some disappointment with apps.
The TV looks great. Extremely bright. Love watching sports on it. All negativity in this review relates to Vizio's SmartCast, not the hardware. It's buggy. Sometimes it won't load, though that's rare. App selection is better with Roku TV. I liked Vizio's app selection when we bought the TV, but now Disney+ isn't yet available, so I have to cast that. I'm hoping Vizio adds Disney+ to available apps. Also, ever since a software update, YouTube.TV sound is way too low (can't hear at a volume of 20 (like before)...have to increase to at least 50 to hear anything), OR must go into TV's audio settings to toggle speakers off then on OR to turn surround sound off, which fixes the problem (unless I switch the program, then I have to do it again). Reddit has a 3-week old threat about this known problem. I'm using TV audio only, no soundbar or external speakers. Having to adjust audio settings each and every time the program channel is changed is a major problem, especially since we're using YTTV as our primary streaming source. So, I'm waiting for Vizio to fix its buggy SmartCast software. It's been about a month so far since the buggy update was released. Waiting....

The Quantum is Key
Got a good panel, and it doesn't disappoint. Colors and absurd brightness are phenomenal, and I'm still sometimes surprised by the black levels this set is capable of with only 192 zones. It's right in plasma territory. A joy to watch UHD content on with no envy of current models, which surprisingly don't do much of anything better but exist in a larger size. Upscaling is a weak point, but not as bad as people make it out to be. When sending a quality less than 1080p source, the picture looks rather good.Smartcast isnt awesome, but it's again not as bad as many make it out to be, especially after the recent speed improvements.Vizio made a statement with the introduction of the 2018 model (which is now the equivalent of the Quantum X). If you get a good panel, it's still a more than worthy centerpiece for any home theater.
