WoolrichHudson Bay Blanket 8 Point King Size - Scarlet

Ordered the Hudson Bay 8 Point Blanket from eSource through Amazon just before Christmas because we got our first king bed and there was a great sale. I was worried about spending that much money on a blanket through a merchant I had never used, but they delivered the real thing at an amazing price! I will never be without a Point Blanket now that I have been spoiled by the wonderful warmth it offers. It seems like a cold bed warms up almost immediately and even on the coldest nights no added blankets are needed. Somehow this wool blanket is endowed with amazing properties to keep you warm and still not overheat you and allow your body to breath unlike fleece or vellux.Our heat pump couldn't keep up at night during the polar vortex, but we didn't know we needed to get up to turn on the emergency furnace because we were sound asleep and warm all night long with temperatures in the low 50's in the bedroom. With our old blankets, which were very nice fleece and vellux blankets, and a comforter to top it off we would have been awakened to the cold in the mid 60's. We no longer have to use a winter comforter on top of our blanket. Its just a sheet, wool blanket and a light bedspread that is lightly quilted.I can think of one big negative or positive for this blanket depending on your perspective. My wife doesn't need to come to my side of the bed and cuddle to warm up anymore because she stays warm on her own now.I will never be without a point blanket again. I didn't know what I was missing. Its really not that expensive when you realize the comfort and the fact its built to last. And no, its not scratchy, but its not super soft either.

My mother had a Hudson Bay blanket that I enjoyed using every time I visited her. Unfortunately, it was damaged by insects before her death. I hope this blanket will not just comfort me, but future generations.

I got this blanket for my bed at home, for those cold winter nights. I've done historical re-enactment of the french fur trade era, back when I was in school, and this was the pattern I always loved. Be warned, this blanket is perfect if you're planning on winter camping in Iceland. Do not expect to sleep under it if you live in the tropics, you'll roast.

I am not one to write negative reviews , and because of EVERY review giving this blanket such high marks, I stepped out of my box and bought this VERY EXPENSIVE BLANKET.THERE ARE TWO PROS to this blanket ONLY....color and warmthThe CONS, ...price for the NAME ONLYScratchy itchy material, and NO border stitching.I was born in the North, and have been loyal to Fairibault Woolen Mills for years, and own many of their Frontier/ Revival wool blankets.I Placed them side by side.Thickness, sameSoftness ...hands down FairibaultWarmth, bothHeaviness, Fairibault with thick tight, full weave and total blanket edging.I can place the blanket against my face , but not the Hudson Bay.In THIS CASE, you pay HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS MORE for the Name, and where it was made.I don’t return items I normally buy, but I am on the fence with this one.It also took me forever to find it since Canada doesn’t sell to the US right now.I should have went with my instincts.

I bought this blanket expecting the Hudson Bay quality that I have heard about over the years and I was not disappointed. It is a beautiful blanket and the King size I bought was very generously sized so it tucked in with plenty of fabric to spare.I expect my children will have to draw straws to see who gets this out of my estate when I leave this world. The winner will surely have it for a very long time.Have now had this blanket on our bed all winter and it really is the best. Storing it for the summer now and I will put it back on in the fall. Great blanket, and again the generous size is wonderful.

I purchased an 8 point Hundson Bay Blanket to cover my king size bed. The size of the blanket is perfect. Plenty big enough to tuck it in on both sides and at the foot of the bed. This is an all wool blanket and it is suprisingly soft. At times during the night, the blanket will be up against my face and it does not itch like some other wool products against one's skin. This blanket is extremely warm and living in Colorado and Wyoming my entire life, I am not sure why I have not bot one earlier. This is an expensive product but well worth the investment.
