Polymer animal clay learning how to create life like animals out of polymer clay

I expected pictures and better instructions. It just a bunch of paragraphs. As a beginner book, it is lacking. If someone is experienced, then it probably is ok.

I was actually shocked to discover this book had only one photo per project. No other angles, nothing to show scale and no photos of the process. Are you kidding me? I have had dozens of polymer clay books and none of them, NONE, have ever been so devoid of illustrations. It's like someone writing directions on how to paint a landscape without visually demonstrating it. I have worked with polymer clay for years, but if someone is new, I cannot imagine them being able to create the projects this way.Very disappointing.

This book is not for those who are visual learners nor for children. As with many design or assembly directions, what takes a paragraph to write about could have been better conveyed with some photos. There are far too few pictures/images/diagrams and one must slog through the text. Unfortunately, Amazon's preview only let me look through the Introduction so there was no real way to know about the absolute dearth of images in the actual chapters.Oh, well. At least it was only .99

It's very hard when there aren't pictures to accompany the steps, only a semi-far picture of the finished product. Even then there isn't a picture of every project, I wanted the parrot tutorial and am disappointed there isn't a single corresponding picture. Even just beginning, middle, and end steps would've vastly improved this book for me. People learn in different ways and it's always good to cover at least 2 of those ways when doing tutorials, written explanation and pictures go a long way together.

Arrived in a timely manner, not the best instructions given.

Not enough pictures. Instructions could have been shorter and easier to understand. Bigger pictures needed. I was a little disappointed.

I got this as a Kindle download and it's way beyond a great value for the price. The projects include an adorable hedgehog, dog ( a Dalmatian .. Exactly what I needed but you can do other breeds), jellyfish, koi, kitten, horse/ unicorn. There is also a very good explanation of how to treat and use the clay itself, regardless of what kind of sculpture you wish to do. Book is short and sweet and just right for those not looking for an encyclopedia of polymer sculpting. I recommend it for anyone who is a beginner or who wants simple instruction with animal building. If you are really advanced, get a book on animal physiology ... If you want fun, get Allison's book.

Guess I expected more, but nice ways of working up animals with clay.

There were no pictures to help with the all written instructions. Only a few poor black & white finished model pictures which was of no help. I have been a making models for over 30 years & wanted this for young adult beginner family members. Sending back.

A short book with some cute animal ideas, but the worst thing about it is that the steps are not laid out in pictures as they are in just about every other polymer clay book that has ever existed. Instead the instructions are written in long-winded black on white paragraphs with no pictures decorating the pages or separating the clumps of text. Not to mention, one of the images, for the black cat, is lifted directly from a video from SugarCharmShop, a very well known polymer clay YouTube tutorial maker.

What a disappointment. Each project has a single black and white photo which is too fuzzy to see enough definition. There are no step by step pictures to help through the stages. I’ve played around with polymer clay and just wanted a little guidance and some simple projects. Sadly I don’t think this book will be any use to me at all.

like the other reviews..this book is very disappointing. don't bother buying it. waste of money. the animals on the front do not feature in the book and there is a distinct lack of diagrams for guidance.
