A TN cover for those of us who can't live with less than all the inserts
You know, if Ranger used the phrase "traveler's notebook" anywhere in their marketing for this line, they'd sell like hotcakes in the TN universe. For so long, I've been looking for a cover in the width I wanted, and I was sooo close to spending a considerable sum on a custom cover. BUT I saw a YT video where someone went over some Dylusions products. I thought, "Wait! Why didn't I know about these already??" Because they're marketed differently, so we never crossed paths.Note - I don't own any of Dyan's inserts yet. I literally just moved all of my stuff from my leather cover PLUS the other inserts I've been wanting to include. And ignore the messy made-in-10-seconds connector elastics sticking out of the bottom on the photo - they're temporary until I put in better ones. I was excited and impatient and needed to do this NOW.So. Here we go.Pros: - Extra wide - you can stick 8 inserts in this thing (as in my photos) and still not hit the edges of the cover. The grommets for the two existing elastics are big enough that you can run another set right through the same holes, bringing the total to 4, then add your additional inserts using connector bands. Seriously, get one of those TN repair kits with the elastics, or buy some 2mm elastic string in the crafts section and you can do this in two minutes or less. For the connector bands, you can make them, or buy them. There are Dyalog bands available that look really nice and coordinate with the products. I ordered them. - Made of canvas - I watched a video where Dyan talks about the product line, and she states that she is vegan and designs her products to be vegan-friendly. I'm not a vegan myself, but I respect and appreciate that there is a good-quality non-leather option. So many PU and fabric covers out there just aren't of great quality unless you go with a custom-made cover. - Affordable! - The price point is awesome for this line. The covers are priced so that you can take a chance if you aren't sure. I may end up collecting all the covers eventually. I kind of want to get the white one so that I can decorate it myself. - The quality seems good - At this price, you're not going to get the Ultimate canvas cover, but it seems sturdy, the edges are double-stitched, and I don't see any loose threads. The grommets are solidly placed, and the elastics in it are of good thickness. I won't know for sure until I've used it for a while, but it looks like it can withstand some use and abuse.Cons: - No pen loop - I didn't take any points off for this because it's a preference thing. A LOT of TN covers don't have pen loops so it's not out of the ordinary. I like having one, so I'll probably buy one that clips on the side.Summary - I really hope more TN users catch wind of this product line. You don't have to be an art journaler to benefit from Dyan's brilliance. These covers make having a nice, fat traveler's notebook so much easier!
