non slip
Used this product to "secure" a hand sewn rug. Wanted to use the product to help make sure it would not unravel/come appart. Used on back side. Seems to work great, Easy to apply and provides a non-slip backing. Sample held up well from washing. So far, so good. Be sure to use a throwaway brush when applying. Let dry over night.

Really Works!
This liquid latex in water paint-on coating works very well to turn slippery bathroom rugs into non-slip rugs on a tile floor. The jar gave coverage for a 24 x 40 and an 18 x 24 inch cotton rug of the kind with tufts that are so common in bathrooms. The rugs were a slip hazard for us two seniors. So it was recommended to remove them. Instead, I painted the back with this stuff as the directions stated. One must allow plenty of drying time between coats and overnight before use... at least on these heavily textured backs of these rugs. Don't rush the job. Here is what the jar does NOT tell you: 1) Use an inexpensive disposable nylon craft brush about 3" wide, not your good painter's bush. 2) Either wash the brush with soap and water immediately or put it in a plastic bag, tightly sealed, between coats. 3) Allow plenty of time between thin coats if your rug is heavily textured. The deep recesses accumulate little puddles of the latex that take longer to dry. 4) Put the liquid in a plastic food container with a sealable lid and do not dip your brush directly into the jar. 5) Let the rug dry overnight before use.The latex dries to a clear, slightly milky color. It doesn't matter, as it is on the back of the rug. It did not bleed through my rugs, but they are fairly thick and dense. Your experience might be different.I have not washed my rugs yet. Putting them in the dryer is a bad idea as it might damage the latex coating. When washed, I'll air dry these. The reason for four stars only is that this is fairly expensive. It does work well, though, and is much less expensive than a trip to the hospital if you fell in the bathroom!

Saved our rug
The backing on our bathroom rug was disintegrating. Some of the fabric was starting to show through. After 2 failed attempts to buy a new one like it on line i decided to try this. My goal was to seal the backing and lock in any fabric starting to wear through.InPlais worked perfectly. After 2 coats i was convinced the rug would go another 10 years. I actually applied 5 coats. It went on very easy. No mixing. Laid rug out in 80 degree sun with good wind. Each coat dried in 20-30 minutes. Rug is about 18x30 and 5 coats used just over 1/2 jar… 20 oz.

Ruined my runners…
Received the product two weeks ago for use on the back of two runners that sit on top of wall to wall carpet in high traffic areas. Applied a single layer as thinly as I could with a disposable paint brush - very thick product - and laid runners in the sun to dry. Well, that was two weeks ago… and IT’S STILL. NOT. DRY! It’s still so tacky it comes off on my fingers when I touch it - which means I can’t lay them over my wall to wall or the carpet will be damaged! I even tried a hair dryer… WORTHLESS product that has ruined two perfectly good runners.

Great product, bad price
This stuff worked great, however, I need much more of it and it’s way too expensive to keep buying.
