Dual Language First Spanish Reader: Parallel Spanish-English Short Stories For Beginners

This is the book you need to take you to the next step
This book is beyond perfect for helping people get to the intermediate level and beyond. What’s even better is that it’s directly translated, I feel that this helps more than other dual language books that translate completely different words/sentences which is definitely misleading. Wish I had found this book sooner. Bravo.

Good intention, lots of gramatical and misspelled words.
I came across with this book, I am a native Spanish speaker. This book contains an incredible number of mistakes. Letters, grammatical and orthographic mistakes. I really don't know how is it aloud to be sell with such amount of mistakes. Get a Spanish review.

Strange English translation
The English translation on the opposite page of the Spanish is not at all how we speak. The English has been translated directly form the Spanish which cannot be done. Not good I'm afraid.

People complaining didn't read the intro
This book is good. Like one reviewer said they try to do a literal translation which i feel is great for learning. For example como te llamas = what is your name but literally it means - what do you call yourself... now this isnt an example from the book its just me making my own example. This book tries to make it as close to a literal translation as it can. This helps because you can learn what words mean etc... as per my last example if you learn the translation "what is your name" vs "what do you call yourself" you end up having no idea what llamar (to call) really means...hopefully i explained my reasoning understandably enough... last thing is in the introduction to the book...it literally says that it trys to translate literally or as close as possible to not mislead you with translations that mean the same but aren't exact. I am quite decent at spanish i have been learning for 7 or 8 months using many techniques. This is just one different way i will add to my list..(see the picture i inlcuded for explanation of the above)

Would be 5* if there was audio of the stories to listen to!
Overall I think it’s an excellent resource for learning Spanish. But part of the challenge of learning is listening to and deriving meaning from the Words… For me a big part of this process is missing with this book but it’s still pretty good.
