My new favorite controller
I used to have a super nintendo when I was a kid and I loved the controllers for it. When I bought this for my switch I also used it to play games on my computer and let me tell you it's definitely interesting. The fact that it's flat is odd by today's standards but it feels nostalgic and is definitely usable even for things such as fps games. The only problems I've really run across are that the joysticks aren't very large and that the shoulder and trigger button placement is a bit odd but it is still perfectly usable for almost any game. These were the only real ways that the controller could be made though so it's honestly something that's a deal breaker, just something to get used to. I was able to beat halo 2 vista on legendary using this controller and if I could do that then you could pretty much do anything with it.

Connectivity problems every 5-7 minutes, even after firmware update, full batt charge, and reseted
Update 5/1/20* I had contacted the seller for technical help to see if we can still make this controller work.updates 5/3/20* I was contacted back by seller saying he will contact 8bitdo to find a solution to why my controllers won't stay connected.update 5/7/20* I emailed seller for a follow-up. seller replied, "sorry, been too busy today ,will communicate with 8bitdo tommorrow and then update to you". How hard is it to spend 30 seconds to sent out an email to inquire of solutions for the connectivity issue?updates 5/9/20* Now we just noticed that the left joystick is stuck in the down position. Ridiculously poor quality for how much I paid for it. and still no word back from this avoidant seller.original post: Bad connection issues. Disconnects after from my Switch every 5-7 minutes of game play, even after updating the firmware on both the controller and my Switch. I also made sure batteries were fully charged. I had to reset it several times, even had to turn on/off my switch for it to reconnect, and then again after about 5-7 minutes of game play it would disconnect on it's own again. I bought a few of these from Amazon and only 1 of them seemed to work better after the update. It could be possible the problem came from improper storage in the Amazon facilities? I looked online about this problem and I cannot find any solution. From the forums I read online, people just returned it and went with another controller. I'm not sure I can say anything about battery life.

Incredible product
Very very well built, feels like even better than the original snes controller. Connects easy, buttons work perfectly, very good response when using. Perfect size to take with you everywhere. Very happy, would order again

Incredible
Compatible with everything and very sleek. It will fit in a pocket and has exceptional build quality. All buttons and joysticks feel great.

This should be used for games that uses d pad you shouldn't use this in games like Fortnite
It's great for games that uses the d pad more than the joystick and great for use in other games

Crap firmware / connectivity / manual
**Update** Support walked me through a process to restore the device after a failed firmware update. Increased from 1 star to 3. The rest of the issues still stand.I would avoid 8bitdo products. I have the N30 Pro, and just bricked it using their firmware update tool. I was simply making sure the firmware was up to date, since I have so many issues with this thing staying connected and working properly. The firmware tool said my N30 Pro was already up to date. Lovely. But now it's totally dead in the water. Won't power on, Windows no longer recognizes it as a valid USB device. I removed the back and physically removed power, but as others on reddit have said, that's a long shot. This is a shame, because physically the controller seems great. The manual is also garbage. This thing flashes all kinds of different colors and patterns on the LEDs that the manual does not explain at all. What does red and blue flashing back and forth mean? What does slow red glowing mean? The power management is also poor. If I leave the controller for a couple days (turned off and unused) when I go to use it it's dead. Their problem is in their software, firmware, documentation and firmware update tools. Which is 4/5 of the product unfortunately.

the d-pad is not working right
After 5 months of use, the d-pad is not staying in the up position. The game character does not stay in one place when you want it too. It will move right and left even if you hold the d-pad up and not putting any more pressure on the up position on the d-pad. I did not buy the protection plan, because these controllers are supposed to be the best. That's why I bought it. I like my ps3 controller, but I bought the n30 pro to be able to visit my kids and grandkids and play video games with them using MY controller. Now it is of no use to me. If you are going to buy one, get the protection plan. This is a $39.99 controller. You should not have to buy a protection plan. But it is what it is. So one star on material. Never had a problem with the battery and fit is good for small hands. I would not recommend this to others. Better to buy a cheap one and a protection plan.
