Could be a bit better for the money
I like this kit but the brass hinges suck and require constant maintenance. I eventually replaced mine with thick leather straps. The rivets on the inside of the armor were not deburred, I got a nice cut cleaning the shipping oil off it and putting the armor on. Other than that it does it's job. It's comfortable enough with a gambeson underneath and the girth hoops do a fine job of venting heat and it withstands blows well even eating a shot from my wickedly sharp Zande spear with minimal damaged and it distributes the forces of blows well

Good for the price
Overall exactly what I expected for the price. It had a few flaws such as chipping, dents in the steel, a brass flower rivet is warped. The shoulders stick straight out, that will probably be fixed just by wearing it though. The brass feels weak, I'm not sure how long the sting loops in the front and back will hold together. They were just riveted on then the loop was made by bending it into a circle and that's it. It seems like it was rushed for production. But I wasn't expecting even this good of a product for only $105.I'm going to battle test it this weekend to see how well it holds up to some action and post an update on my thoughts.Edit: It works. You definitely will need a thick gambison to wear this. It has a rivet right on top of my shoulder blades that was really uncomfortable until I put extra padding. I think I had 6 or 7 layers of quilting material on my shoulders just so it wouldn't dig in.Edit: After about 6 months of use the shoulders still stuck straight out. I don't think it's a lack of wear, and the straps are just too short. The easiest fix is to cut the top strap that holds the armor past your shoulder, the two side straps are enough to hold it on. Of course the best fix would be to completely redo the straps to fit your body, but at that point you would probably be able to completely make your own lorica. The only other flaw I have noticed is some of the rivets are poorly held in, and at one event a chest strap fell off causing the rest of the armor to fall off. In hindsight it was absolutely hilarious. I fixed it by using a ball and peen hammer to reattach the rivet.I use CLP to clean it after every time I use it or every other week, whichever comes first, and it has kept a decent shine.I still think this was definitely worth the money to get, and would recommend anyone trying to get into armor on a budget to at least give this a look.

Straps not hole punched.
Overall I liked the Lorica Segmenta Cuirass. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating was because two of the six straps were not hole punched. It is Okay, I just measured and hole punched them myself. I would be willing to order from them again.

If you have the time to get the oil off then this item is for you.
It’s pretty good but when it gets to you there oil stuff on it which is a pain to get off
