This is thicker and larger than I expected, which is good. The color is right on, and looks good in our kitchen.The material is a good spongy type of rubber--think a mixture between jello and rubber. It's resilient, but still soft. We have a different mat in another part of the house that is more like a dense memory foam that compresses and takes a few seconds to reform. This mat isn't much like that at all. It springs back immediately, holding its shape, but is still cushioning.Our kitchen is all hardwood; any softening for the floor relieves a lot of pain from standing, which is exactly what this mat provides. I almost want to do the dishes now!I've seen mats in stores that aren't as high quality as this and are more expensive, so it's a winner for sure!

I had to let this mat air out for a few days before putting it in my kitchen --it did have a strong chemical smell, as other reviewers have noted. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars. It feels great underfoot and is easy to clean. As long as you're willing to let it air out, it's a great kitchen mat.

I don't understand how other people can have these mats in their homes and not notice the horrible off-gassing. It's made of PVC, yes, but still--the smell is intolerable even with the windows open and the fans on high! I have the mat out on my back patio now and hopefully within a few days the smell will lessen; it's not coming back inside this house until it does, though. I hope I didn't waste my money with this one. That would really be a shame, because it feels as soft as it's advertised to be.

I actually liked this floor mat for awhile. Easy to wipe up, comfy & cushiony to stand on. But I have a small, narrow kitchen. Always walking by it or over it. My sandals/shoes would hit the edge and I would almost trip over it. It's very thick...almost 3/4". So for my purposes, it's just not working out.

We bought 2 of these, put them on the floor, walked on them and almost immediately bought a third one so that from the sink, the counter I use the most and to and including the stove all have this mat under them. They are bigger than most the others - wider and longer and so soft to step on. We both have very serious back problems with a total of 5 big spine surgeries between the 2 of us. Spill something on them? Spill a little something and not realize it? Wipes right off with a damp cloth. I got the red ones and they look like pretty red kitchen rugs. One of our best purchases and definitely a great bargain at $24 each!! Buy one and just stand on it - you will want more!

Thick mat that is easy to wipe down. I'd like more color choice, but this color isn't bad. It does look a little "plasticky."There are a few small holes in it now and I'm not sure how they even got there, but it still looks pretty good.

THIS IS A GREAT MAT ONLY FOR A KITCHEN THAT DOESN'T GET MUCH USE. THE POSITIVES: BEAUTIFUL RED COLOR; GREAT SIZE; EASY TO CLEAN. HOWEVER, AFTER USING THIS MAT FOR NEARLY A YEAR, I'M REPLACING IT WITH A STURDIER MAT. THE BIGGEST NEGATIVE IS THAT THE MAT WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE. IT IS ALWAYS ASKEW BECAUSE EVERY TIME ANYONE STEPS ON AND OFF OF IT, IT MOVES. HAZARDOUS IN A HIGH TRAFFIC KITCHEN. OH, AND THAT EDGING THAT LOOKED SO TIDY AND NEAT WHEN NEW? IT DOESN'T HOLD UP. THE EDGING IS NOW SERIOUSLY FRAYED.

Love the mat, but i have heels and when im trying to go to work im running in the kitchen and my heels popped the mat and ruined it. Not the best for a kitchen.
