I’m in Love
I’m just getting back into playing after some time off. I also have some orthopedics issues with my left hand that have weakened it. I thought that playing guitar again would not only be fun but also help rehab my hand. And it’s working.Fire off I was very impressed with the quality of this instrument for the price. Fit and finish are excellent. And it’s just plain beautiful to look at. It arrived well packaged for transport with no damage or blemishes. I had my brother, who is a professional musician and pretty decent luthier go over the Streamliner to make sure that the truss rod, action, etc, were adjusted right. He deemed it spot on right out of the box.The guitar plays easily. I have no trouble fingering all of the chords I remember. The body looks big but fits my body comfortably (I’m not a big person). It sounds great being played through a Vox headphone amp as long as you don’t crank all of the knobs up to Eleven. I am going to test drive it through a few “real” amps before purchasing one and am excited about the process.I would definitely recommend this guitar for a player of just about any level. It’s a quality instrument that isn’t much more costly than an el cheapo knockoff. I look forward to playing it for many years.

Best guitar ever!
The playability, tone and beauty of this guitar are well above expected. I own 7 guitars. I find I am almost exclusively playing the Gretsch. You can't go wrong with a Gretsch. The g2420 is priced for not only value for your money, but quality of craftsmanship. You will not be sorry if you buy it.

Awful color
It’s hard to believe the grudge put out a guitar with that kind of color. It’s really plastic you’re looking and gaudy. I got rid of it almost immediately because I couldn’t

WELL BUILT!!!
Well Built! Pictures do not do justice to how beautiful this Gretsch is, and the sound is amazing right out of the box. And, to my surprise, it was in tune. Sweetwater will be getting more of my business! Thank you Sweetwater!!!

Great Acoustic Electric Guitar in It's Price Range
Over the past few months I have been searching for a hollow body arch top and/or a semi hollow of decent quality. My preference has been Ibanez. I was able to try several models of interest off the rack which included Ibanez, Epiphone, and D’Angelico. Of the rack the set up’s of the D’Angelico was not that great. The Epiphone was ok. Was thinking of going with the higher end Ibanez or artstar.Never thinking of trying or using a Gretsch, and after becoming disappointed with the other models; I pulled a Gretsch Solid body (G5220 Electro BT) off the Rack. Was very surprised with the feel of the neck and full balanced sound (perhaps better sounding than previous semi hollow models I tried off the rack}.A couple of weeks ago I had a chance to try a Gretsch Streamliner hollow bodyG2420 and Semi Hollow G2622. Was really impressed with the Gretsch hollow body. Great feel ,Not heavy, Smooth Neck . Low string action with no buzz , and great balanced sound, acoustic or with amp. Once again compared to previous models I tried, it was like striking gold. I then tried the semi hollow G2622. Also played well. Was thinking I could use the hollow body for smaller venues and the semi for possible larger venues due to no feedback. Now there are a few cons I should mention. In general the frets were leveled very good. A couple with minor sharp edge which I felt I could correct with a small file. Also volume and tone knobs are different than most other guitars. Appears to be a lot of play in the volume and tone knobs. Will take a little getting use to. Not sure about tuning machines. Appear to be ok for now. I play Jazz Standards, and at this time consider myself pretty lucky to have found the G2420 . Great feel and sound. If set up decent, probably just as good as any expensive arch top.In closing whether your into Jazz, Blues or Country, don’t overlook the Gretsch . For the price it may be that dream guitar you are looking for at a reasonable price.
