I highly recommend these suspenders when you're using them in casual-to-dress situations.I've worn suspenders for many years, and have tried a number of styles that were suited for the role I used them for. Like any other clothing item/accessory, you need to match the suspender to the job you want it to do, and then hope the item's quality is up to the job. For example, in jobs where you do a lot of bending/stretching, or where you wear a tool belt that exerts a constant downward pull on your pants, a very heavy-duty suspender with wider, strong elastic straps (or leather straps) and very strong clasps that don't open or slip is called for. In extreme situations, suspenders that fasten to buttons sewn onto your pats work best. There's few things more frustrating that to bend down to do something, only to have one of the clasps at your back let go, and fly up to smack you in the back of the head. Similarly, you wouldn't want to wear a suspender with wide, heavy straps and thick, bulky clasps with a suit.These are lightweight suspenders, meant for casual wear situations where you wouldn't expect a lot of bending/stretching. The straps are a lighter weight elastic, and the clasps are are meant to clasp your pants, not to a belt. The clasp is made from a lighter gauge metal; it seems to grip will, but I wonder if it will deform over time so it clamps less firmly. The plastic grippers will work best on lighter weight materials like you find in dress or casual wear slacks. They'll grip heavier, thicker jeans material, but could slip if you've adjusted the strap length too short. The clasp top (the part you press on to close) is OK, but its design is such that it could snag on something as you sat down, opening the clasp. The highest quality clasps have rounded edges so that when it's closed the edge is tightly against your pants material, minimizing the chances that it may catch on something and accidentally open. The clasps on these suspenders have edges that aren't as rounded, which leaves a bit of a gap between the cloth and clasp edge. I've had these snag a couple of times on odd-shaped chair backs as I sat, which caused them to open accidentally. It's not a big deal, and wearing a belt to cover the clasps usually prevents that from happening.In active situations, I've found that the X-back style works best. If your job has you doing a lot of bending or stooping, or you wear a toolbelt, Carhartt has a very good suspender you should consider. For nearly every other use though, the Y-back style of these suspenders from Timiot are an excellent choice. They're very comfortable, and well suited for casual or dress useage. I was impressed with the number of color choices offered. And other than the odd situation I noted earlier, once you close the clasps, they stay closed and in place until you take them off again.Hope you found this review helpful. Strong elastic and the clips lock securely without slippage. This is the 2nd pair I've bought, one pair light and one pair dark. They hold heavy work pants up and comfortable to wear.

Pretty rugged grip.

The grips work great, they are very comfortable and elastic, the color is as expected. 10/10

The clips are substandard

These suspenders really just tied the whole thing together for the get-up I was wearing at the recent wedding I attended. And now I intend to incorporate them in many more get-ups. I also intend to purchase a few more styles. This old 1920’s “look” seriously needs to come back into style. Thanks!

I bought these to wear with my fire dept. uniform for my daughter's wedding this past July. I kind of did it as a joke (why do firemen wear red suspenders) and decided to purchase a pair for one of my son's who is a firefighter also as he was going to wear his uniform to the wedding also. They looked good and we both had a lot of comments from people at the wedding about the red suspenders. Everyone liked them. They were easy to put on and they actually did look good when our blouses were opened up so people could see them. They did a good job of holding up the uniform pants also!
