My associate got me interested in NMN. I’ve been involved in natural health and supplements most of my life, so naturally when I heard about NMN, and its relation to NAD and DNA repair, it perked my interest. I did some preliminary research, to learn about what I was about to put into my body, and then I began taking it; two capsules daily of ProHealth Longevity’s NMN PRO 150, a total of 300 mg of NMN.I learned that the NMN animal studies showed measurable and tangible benefits for the mice. I also learned that Dr. David Sinclair, the scientist who is behind the work on NMN and NAD, had developed a blood serum test that computed a person’s ‘biological age’, as opposed to chronological age. The biological age test, called ‘Inner Tracker’, determines the relative age of someone’s internal organs and physiological systems. When I originally began taking NMN, I thought that I would probably have to utilize this serum test in order to measure the benefits from taking the product. I was wrong.About six or seven months ago, I developed a skin rash behind my knee. It was red and it itched. Pretty soon it began to spread behind both knees, and then onto my legs. I didn’t know what it was. It didn’t go away, but instead, slowly spread over my legs, until about a month ago, when it had completely covered both legs. I finally went to the doctor and he said it was psoriasis. If you’ve never had psoriasis, don’t. I thought I had leprosy. Plus, the skin on my face looks better; all of my skin looks better. I did some more investigation and found that other people have had the same effect, with improved skin. I am an 59 year old male , engineer by education and training and a businessman by profession. I have blood testing done every 6 weeks to monitor health status and effects of supplements going back to 2013. I am in reasonably good health and exercise daily and eat healthy and clean. I am mildly diabetic for the last 3 years. To control this diabetes, I continue to take 1000 mg metformin ( 500 mg twice a day ) which along with exercise and a controlled diet manage my blood sugar to reasonable levels ( my HbA1c level is normally 6.4 with a fasting of 130 and a 2 hour post prandial of 150 after a low glycemic index meal ). I take basic supplements such as the important vitamins and some minerals as well as digestion enzymes etc.I took NMN ( Pro Health Longevity ) for a month 150 mg capsules twice a day. The immediate benefits ( within a few days ) were improved sleep, lowered joint pains and enhanced exercise capacity. However the biggest and quite unexpected surprise was an immediate near normalisation of my blood sugar levels. My fasting went to 110 and 2 hour post prandial dropped to 115 after the same low glycemic meal. In one month my HbA1c dropped to 5.7I subsequently googled and read up articles on NMN and found studies which confirmed the NMN by normalisation of NAD+ levels had completely reversed diabetes in female mice with the effect being mild in male mice. Human studies had still to be carried out.I have also used NR ( TRUGEN ) for a month, again at 150 mg twice a day. The TRUGEN gave some what enhanced sleep but did not in my case deliver any other benefits which could be measured or experienced. THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE IN MY INDIVIDUAL CASE was that the TRUGEN had no effect on my diabetes.I have no relationship whatsoever to either company and am an independent individual who wants to share a the benefits experienced and a comparision of NMN with NR.
