Alphonse Mucha Coloring Book

The media could not be loaded. This is a beautiful and well made coloring book of 22 designs by Alphonse Mucha as interpreted by Susan Koop. This is my fourth coloring book from Pomegranate and their quality is very good. I have been enjoying coloring in the other books and I am sure to enjoy this one, too. I really appreciate that Pomegranate includes a color snapshot of the original art piece with all of their coloring books I have bought so far.The designs are well printed with clear lines. The lines differ in intensity and size depending on the placement in the design. It gives them a feeling of almost three dimensions and should make coloring quite fun.I purchased this book and the one by Creative Haven at the same time. While they share some of the basic designs, the rendering is quite different. Also, this book has 22 designs on a higher quality paper (though non-perforated) while Creative Haven has 31. I like each for different reasons and will be really happy to be able to color the designs of one of my favorite artists.The pages are a good quality paper, however, they are not perforated but the binding is a couple of staples which are easily removed if you choose to do so. The designs are printed on only one side of the paper with the back left blank. All of my markers leaked through to some degree. None of my gel pens leaked through. If I decide to use markers, I will put a piece of paper under the page I am working on to preserve the rest of the book. I will only take it apart if I choose to frame some of the artwork.Alponse Mucha is one of my favorite artists. I have been cross stitching a few of these designs over the years but my recent purchase of these coloring books will be the first time I have an opportunity to spend time coloring the designs. I am really looking forward to it!

I love the beautiful feminine women of Mucha and there are 22 pages of them in this coloring book. I have some artistic talent, but not enough to pursue drawing classes, however, I can express my artistic nature using colored pencils and forms already drawn. I find coloring not only a creative outlet, but also very relaxing. The designs are large, so a younger person could use crayons, but I would recommend this for my fellow adult colorists. There are glossy colored photos of the original art on the inside cover of the book. I find trying to duplicate Mucha's original work, quite gratifying and like taking an art appreciation class. As you color, you really begin to understand his style and talent. Specifically, the coloring he used for many of the skin tones of the women was unique, and an enjoyable challenge. The quality of the paper is better than most and each drawing is on a separate page.The only thing I didn't like about the book is that some of the drawings lacked the ornate backgrounds of the originals, otherwise it would have been perfect. However, since I've gotten so much enjoyment and it stretched my ability, I gave it five stars.

It is some of the most famous Mucha art. no ai ripe off. and it was in good shape, slightest damage on the corners, no worse that what I have seen in stores. Best I seen in used books.

I was not aware of this artist but I am quite pleased with his work. Very easy to become completely engrossed with the coloring of these pictures. The pictures are large and offers an ease to color. This allows for more creative allowances. The art work isn't restrictive nor intimidating. Very calming.

Not easy to copy

This is a really great coloring book. The pages are a surprisingly heavy weight, great for those using markers or watercolors. The lovely Mucha ladies have been rendered beautifully in black and white. I have to agree with another reviewer that the only drawback is that the coloring book is so great you almost don't want to mess it up by coloring in it. I have to keep reminding myself I can just order another one if I want to. It could be fun to do the ladies in different colors, maybe copying Mucha for the first set and using my imagination for the next. Can't wait to start!!

There are some details left out in the backgrounds, but I like the artistic freedom of it. I'm really pleasantly surprised about the paper in this book, it's bristol. Very inexpensive for the quality of this book, very glad I bought this.

As a beginning adult "colorist", I have been pretty disappointed with most of the "adult" selections out there - I do not have any desire to color in nonsense swirls and repetitive patterns for hours. My preference is for "story-picture" clothing fashions, hair styles, and various environmental settings, and this comes very close to fitting the bill!Glamorous "retro" ladies on nice single-sided, quality paper... The inside of the front and back covers even includes miniatures of the paintings in their original color themes. Glad I ordered this book!

Love this colouring book. Amazing designs, with an ability to cut out the artworks and post them on your wall. Some of the fine decorative detail from the original designs is missing, however this means you can add some of your own drawing to the designs and make them your own. (Also, it arrived the day after I ordered it, which was lighting fast)

Es realmemte muy bonito, los dibujos son muy parecidos a las pinturas originales. Además, la calodad del papel es buena y los dibujos estan en una sola cara de la hoja, lo que es útil si quieres enmarcar alguno

I love this book, it is unique and beautiful. Seeing the paintings in real colour also adds to the imagination of coloring, whether it is like the original, or your own inspiration.

Questo è un bellissimo libriccino da co!orare, con i disegni di Mucha in bianco e nero. In seconca e terza di copsrtina (patinata) sono riprodotte le opere originali dell'artista ceco, per ispirarsi attraverso i colori originali utilizzati.

Me encantan los dibujos de este ilustrador, son una selección muy representativa.El papel es de cartulina, con dibujos por una cara.
