War All the Time (Poems 1981-1984)

I enjoyed that it had a different style and there were relatable nuances in it. Many criticize the content as sexist. I have to agree. My thought is if the book was written in current time I would feel differently, liking it less. It wasn't and does fairly represent the 80's from what I remember, and attempts to do so artistically. That in itself is worth considering. All the poems are good I think and worth a read for anyone who can take the context of western civilization and culture into consideration for the time the book was written.

Bukowski!
What can I say? Itβs Bukowski poetry towards the end of his life, which is the period in which he would write some of his greatest poems!

Bukowski
Great book of poetry by the crusty Charles Bukowski. If you are looking for an Emily Dickinson type poet, Bukowski is not your type. Street tough, drunk with a way with words few others have, War all the time is a gem.

Real All The Time
Like it or not Uncle Hank simply narrates his life and zaps you between the eyes with his wit and bleary eyed wisdom. If you know Bukowski this book of verse is what you want and expect. If you haven't gotten to know Hank yet, just buy the book!

PURE BUKOWSKI
A broken down reprobate who spends too much time drinking and playing to ponies writes poems about his life. Sometimes it is funny, sometimes it is sad, sometimes it is profane and vulgar but it's always real.
