Looks good but waste of money on both.
I got two of these. Guys, sorry but it is a total junk. Both are 10C OFF and the worst part - they both are not linear. UPS delivered them to my mailbox and on both needles were pointed straight down (like where F and C are printed) while it was ABOVE freezing outside! They will display proper temp around 18 - 20 C and then, when real temp is 80C they both show 72C and it gets worth when you go high temp ... Yes you may try to adjust them (flat screw driver on the back with big force to turn) but then again it will be accurate ONLY at the temp that you made adjustments to.If you go UP or DOWN from that temp - it will display more and more OFF (10+ deg OFF!). Another issue - idiotic design of spring hooks to hold it on pipe... TOTAL FAILURE... I have used similar pipe thermometers in the past and it was so easy to install to the pipe, but this one is a night mere, (I am a field service guy and my hands are good, but what a pain poor design). My next try will be to get similar gauges but if you look close to the picture - you will see actual BIMETALLIC COIL around the centrer shaft and needle is connected to the end of this coil, so nothing prevents needle from free moving. Hope it will be linear in entire range :)

It works.
It's all true. Yes, this isn't the most accurate thermometer, and it takes a some effort to get it to clamp onto a pipe. But it is quite inexpensive, and so my expectations were never incredibly high. For my particular application, accuracy isn't all that important. I just need to see the generalized temperature swings of a pipe, and this clamp-on thermometer accomplishes that goal.In terms of attaching it to the pipe - I guess I'm capable enough to get it to clamp to a 3/4" copper water pipe without a ridiculous amount of effort. It took about 4 minutes to attach it, when I was hoping it would take 10 seconds.

Good price, badly executed
Received these today and started mounting them (radiant floor boiler system) first of all the mounting system (a lousy spring and thin plate that so hard to connect) I had to modify them to even get them on, it was poor at best. Second the response time of the gauge was very very slow compared to other gauges I use, then they weren't consistent to each other or to another superior gauge. After swapping around the gauge confirmed that they did not read the same, some off by as much as 10 degrees. I wish companies would stop making junk and these must be Chinese but it doesn't say. I will probably return them at my own cost and I'm not happy about it. Gauges NEED to be accurate or it's worthless!!!!

Not So Accurate
If you don't mind being about 15-20 degrees off, this thermometer is for you. The springs that are included to hold it on difficult to install. You may have to use some needle nosed pliers to spread the spring apart to get it to go through the holes in the bracket. Don't know who packaged this but the box ends were not secure. It is amazing the gauge did not fall out in transit.

not ver precise.
One expects no more than 0.5% of scale accuracy but this is closer to 2%. Add the short thermowell so the stem does not fit past the end of the fitting used to mount it and the response and precision is also weak. One gets what one pays for.

Good but a little short
This is a good unit but the lenght of the probe is pretty short. I probably should have read the description better. Functionally it seems perfect and a good substantial unit.

These work great when the plumbing is already done and you want to know the water temp for that heating pipe or hot water temp. out going, have used many of these unit and find that they are not more then 2 to 3 deg;s off.

I bought three. One had a cracked glass when I received it. I didn't mind that but all three are not accurate. Not even close.
