Amazing Journal
I purchased this product to replace my current work notebook. I was looking for the 5X7 size format and with this product, there were 5 separate inserts that I could use to organize my notes. I have been looking at many different products, online and in person. This one stood out based upon the reviews, now that I have received it and had the opportunity to carry it around and take notes in it, all of the reviews are true. This is really well made, the leather is thick and sturdy, but soft enough to lay flat as you write in it. The pen loop on the inside is big enough for my fountain pen and holds it securely. The paper is nice and heavy, does not blot or bleed through at all. The refills are laced into the binder using a very unique lashing pattern, and there is a page marker which appears to be an extension of the laces. I actually added 3 additional leather straps on the inside to use as additional page markers for the various sections that I have organized it into. There were some complaints about the length of the closing strap (too long) but you cannot keep it secure without that length of strap, it was not a big deal for me. The closure threads through the front cover loops easily and keeps it from popping open. Over all I am extremely happy with this journal and intend on using it for all of my work and personal notes, highly recommended if you are in the market for a premium, well made personal journal. Jofelo also provided a discount for refills after I registered my product with them for the warranty!

ONE OF THE FEW OUT OF MANY.
I have several leather journals as I write daily. In terms of quality I have them from poor to excellent. This one is excellent. If I had to do it over I'd buy a larger size (can't remember if they have larger sizes), but that's my problem not theirs. This journal is of the highest quality though it's made in China. I've never used one with ruled paper so when it's this one's turn I'll see if I like it. But, all of that aside, the leather is beautiful. Yes, you can scratch it as some have complained, but who cares? Just rub it out with some oil or shoe cream or whatever...I wouldn't because I like the scratches, gives the thing a used look. The paper...I haven't written on it yet, I'm hoping it withstands my fountain pens. Most of my other journals, the ink bleeds through to one degree or another. Since I only write with fountain pens, I hope that's not true for this journal.A lot of reviewers won't give out 5 stars as they say, "nothing is perfect", but if nothing is perfect then a review can only be comparative. Since I have several to compare this one gets a 5 all the way around, it's that nice. Don't remember what I paid for it now, doesn't make any difference, you get what you pay for in my experience, so if it seems a little pricey, trust me when I tell you I've purchased some really awful "leather" journals for a lot less.

Buyer beware of Counterfeit
I have a jofelo Journal and I love it. This one was advertised as a Jofelo journal so I ordered another one in a 5 x 7 what I received is a counterfeit. The pages came with dirty watermarks, it doesn’t have as a jofelo logo. A jofelo journal the pen holder is stitced on the one I received has a metal press. I read all the reviews and they’re wonderful, obviously I didn’t get what you guys got. This one was shipped from India and it says “Goat leather? I contacted The company for a refund hope I hear from them.

Absolutely beautiful
This journal is absolutely beautiful. It's design is simple, but looks great. One of my main concerns was the way the pages were bound/attached, so that was something I went into checking right away. They are kept in by two loops (four holes) which have leather ties. It makes it easy to take pages out or add for refilling purposes, but I would warn against really pressing pages against the ties. I can foresee possible tearing at the holes punched into the pages, but that would be my only true concern. The only other thing that I would point out is that the leather strip used to hold the journal closed. The two loops that the strip is supposed to slide through work, but the top loop is a lot tighter and harder to slip the strap through than the bottom piece, which feels too loose, by comparison. It doesn't make it challenging to use the top loop, but it does take more effort than the bottom. All in all, though, this product is absolutely amazing, and I would recommend it to anybody looking for a journal or sketchbook. I would definitely buy it again.

Wow times 3!
If I could only use one word for this review it would the word AMAZING. But since I get to use more than one...the quality and workmanship is truly impressive. I would have thought something like this would cost two to three times as much. - I did a little research on "Crazy Horse Leather," and found that it is also called Saddle Leather. The leather is rich and supple with a really nice smell. The Journal just reeks with an Indiana Jones lets go have an adventure feeling.

Great Journal
I purchased this journal for my personal use, and I am very glad that I did. It is extremely sturdy and will hold up to years of use. The material is genuine leather, and has that great leather smell. I had some questions regarding the journal, and was extremely pleased with the courteous and friendly service that the seller provided. Jofelo produces a fine product, and I am proud to own it.

Great journal
I use this for writing ideas down on the go.It certainly looks great and is crafted well.My only issue and it's very minor is that the inside of the cover tends to put leather pieces onto the paper. Not a huge deal but if you're using a fountain pen like me, be sure to wipe the page before writing as those pieces will mess up your nib.

Great journal but really hard to refill
The video on youtube that explains how to refill was shot on a terrible camera and it's really hard to see which loop to put the leather strap through when you want to refill the journal. If you can accept that it's not going to be refilled or figure out how to do it, then you should buy. The journal itself is nice but can be hard to lay flat.
