Boss Up!: This Ain’t Your Mama’s Business Book

OMG... Straight to the heart! Lindsay Teague Moreno has delivered a classic to us in modern, contemporary language that is full of vulnerability, laughter, tears, inspiration and solid guidance.Lindsay's engaging style of writing and her straight forward approach make this book an invaluable resource that I will read many times. The unique use of story lines and questions make it impossible to just skim through; it commands your attention and insists on intruding into your inner most hopes and dreams. I found myself often deeply pondering and searching inside for answers, trying to resurrect the dreams that I had let go of a long time ago. It shook me from my lethargy and made me uncomfortable, showed me a mirror of my past and most importantly gave me a vision and a clear path to my future.While sharing a bit of her history and being very vulnerable, Lindsay spoke of her mother and this line now haunts me: "She died with all her someday's still sitting on the table waiting to be realized". Oh how close to home this hit! I too have so many hopes and dreams and now have a way to not allow that to be my destiny. This book clearly outlines the path I must take to ensure that my dreams are not just wishful thinking. This is not a book, its a course to whatever future you want to create.

I am not married. I am not a mother. These two things are important to note because Lindsay makes it clear - in a good way- that this is her target audience. However, I sit outside the margin of that target and there is still a place for me at this table of hers and I am thankful.This book is real. Lindsay puts it out there. She tells you where she royally screwed up and how she succeeded. In a world where people Ra-ra about all their successes all the time this is powerful.This book is practical. There is not ethereal pie in the sky story here. Lindsay has done her work. She busted her butt against a lot of naysayers, she sacrificed things in the short term for the long term gain, and she tells you exactly how she went about doing in practical steps that anyone can take and apply to their own business.This book is funny! Lindsay tells it like it is and adds a dash of humor that makes her feel like she is the best friend you've always known was out there.This book is a game changer. As an entrepreneur with both a network marking business and a consulting business the one thing I struggled with was I didn't fit in the boxes everyone wanted me to be in. This book & Lindsay's story are an encouragement for those who don't fit into boxes others try to put us in. It gives us permission to go out and do things the way that we are gifted and created to do them in...and shows that by doing that you can be successful.I highly recommend grabbing this book. But I don't recommend getting it if you are going to read it and then put it on a shelf and say "that's nice." Grab it, mark it up...take the steps outlined in it to move toward your own goals and dreams. Boss up, Baby....Boss Up.

BossUp! is a business book that asks the hard questions of entrepeneurship and let's the reader decide the path they will take in their business. If you are looking for a step-by-step how-to business management book that will give a cookie-cutter method to residual income, this is not the book for you. Too many people are looking to be told what to do instead of figuring out how they will innovate for themselves and make their product or service stand apart from their competition.Lindsay Teague Moreno breaks down for the reader the bigger picture of starting a business all the way to growing and nurturing it to maturity through true mental engagement. She shares a raw, humorous and realistic side to experiences every level of entrepeneur will face.BossUP! is fun, engaging, emotionally stirring and thought provoking! I am already planning a re-read to pick up things I might have missed the first time through and make notes. As a newer entrepeneur, my limited experience echoes Moreno's and is reassuring that I just might be doing something right. I recommend this book to anyone, but of course mostly her target female audience, and will tell you to add it to your library as a reference must-have!

My journey with Boss Up! all started when I reached out to a friend about obtaining an entrepreneurial / business mentor. She knows my passion for reading and growth and expressed to me that BOOKS can be mentors! Honestly, I had never really thought about it that way before. She also recommended this book to me. I joined the launch team so that I could begin reading the book right away.I have to say that many times I find it hard to read business books from beginning to end. However, this book really kept me engaged, as it is not your typical rehash of tips that you run into many times. I love that Lindsay shares not just her victories, but her defeats. She presents her journey in a very real and relatable way, including her challenges and the lessons she learned. Then she takes it a step further by providing a practical outline that the reader can personally apply to their situation.Through the pages of Boss Up!, Lindsay Teague Moreno has been able to “virtually” mentor me and provide valuable practical tools to establish a plan to begin to make effective progress with my business. Since my advanced copy was digital, I pre-ordered this book through Amazon so that I could have my “mentor” with me at all times, and fill it with my notes and thoughts as I move forward on my journey.

If you are a woman, especially moms, and you want more from your life but din’t Know where to start, you need this book. If you are starting a new business, are stuck in your current business, or just seem to have lost your passion, Lindsay can help get you back to loving life. I highly recommend this book and am so excited about the new business idea this book inspired for me.

Lindsay Teague Moreno has been a bit of an inspiration to me for a while now. She just gets stuff done! And anytime I thought I couldn't possibly do what she has done, she comes out with a piece of advice that shakes you a bit and makes you realize that "hell yes, I can!". This book is full of pieces of advice just like that. You are left feeling motivated, but even more, you are left feeling capable. We are all capable of success. We just need to get the work done. And this book breaks down the work that needs to be done into easy, no BS steps that are practical, doable, achievable and exciting! If you are feeling lost at all on what it is you think you need to be doing with your life, PLEASE get this book. It's one you will read again and again.

Ladies, if you are a business owner or thinking about opening a business - this book is a must read!I love Lindsay's writing - it's so refreshing and natural. While reading her stories, I've been crying and laughing out loud (thanks Michael). But there's not only stories of her life - with this book you'll have some serious bingo moments! And it doesn't matter, if you want to sell a product or service - this one is for all the boss ladies out there.Bonus: You'll also find some nuggets about social media!

I was lucky enough to be on the launch team for this book and get an advanced reader copy, and fell in love immediately. I've been a fan of Lindsay for a few years, and reading this book I feel like she is talking through the pages. Her truths on being a mom are so relatable, and she gives tangible advice to business owners. The book is both funny, and raw. You don't need to be a mom to appreciate this great book, it is good for pretty much anyone. I'm so glad I got a hard copy to mark up and read over and over. Highly recommend.

This book was a great encouragement to my mommy heart. As a direct sales momma struggling to get back in gear after having a newborn, this book hit all the right spots! I'm motivated and fired up to process and dive into the questions in this book. I know they will give me direction and inspiration to take my business all the way. Lindsey's humour and stories make her incredibly relatable. Her writing makes her feel like a friend giving you the straight talk you need to get out of your funk. Loved reading LTM's Success Tips, and encouragement to be the best momtrepreneur you can be!

Chapter 6 alone is worth the buy! Lindsay shares her experiences and business wisdom as only she can, with humour and vulnerability. She goes the extra step and walks you through exercises to know yourself, your goals and your target market so that not only your business is the best that it can be but so are you in the process.I'm admittedly not in Lindsay's target market as I'm not a mom but it doesn't matter, I've learned so much already. This book is already a favourite and one I will be reading over again for sure.
