Great cast net worth the money
What can I say, I was a little skeptical about buying this net, but only because the price of it. Everything is going up just not the wages don't know if I would pay a higher price than I paid for this I would really half to need one badly because $60 bucks is a little steap, But glad I did buy it. It is very well made and it will come in handy for salt water fishing off of piers and bridges to catch bait fish from 1in to I would say 7 inches which is awesome for what I need it for. Very well made ,but on the pricey side, but worth every penny. I never have spent no more than $30 on a cast net, but I needed this one because of it's size and mesh size. Great cast net. Recommend it.

Good net with small issue
Overall, very pleased with net. Its not stiff and weights seem consistent. Would gave 5 stars except that some of the stitching around the bottom weights are sloppy, uneven and somewhat frazzled. Couple places the nylon thread around the weights would catch the netting, keeping it from totally pancaking. Had to restitch a couple, not really a big deal but for a new net, shouldn't happened.

Best 1/4" mesh net I've ever owned.
1/4" mesh is great for smaller bait. I put this net through rocks and trees and snags. I've patched it a few times and it is still holding up for 3 years now.

Best net I own
I have had many cast nets over the years. Betts are superior to most other cast nets I have owned. Opens easy when thrown. Nice weights on bottom of net. Easy to handle. Highly recommend,

I bought this to learn how to throw and it was perfect to learn on
I just wanted to learn how to throw a cast net because sometimes on the boat we pass rediculous schools of bunker and this is perfect for that. It also has nice, fine holes so its a decent spearing net as well. I was able to learn how to throw this net in 5 minutes by watching a youtube video or two and taking some practice throws on my front lawn. The net is well made and the box is a nice place to store the net. It easily fits back inside. I can throw this net wide open every time and throwing it a few times made throwing my friends 7' net a little easier. But his net is WAYYY harder to throw. This one is easy.

Poor quality cast net!
Based on my experience with this cast net, I would not buy another cast net made by Betts! The write-up on this entry level cast net says that its quality is equal to competitor's pro nets. Well, this net developed many holes along two of the seams after being used for ~3 hours in the surf on a sandy beach. In addition, many of the weights had protruding mold tabs which would get caught in the mesh of the net. I discovered that problem before the net started to fail along the seams, and I filed them off. Also, two of the weights did not have the plastic casing around them. Very poor quality! Photos of these problems are available.I did not try to repair the holes since they were obviously due to poor quality of manufacturing, and not by neglect on my part. I also felt that both seams would fail along the entire length, and that I would eventually have to resew the entire net. I confirmed this by casting the net in the surf a few more times.According to Betts, the "net is not warranted if immersed in water". Also, they further state that "rips and tears occuring during use are not warranted and the net will not be replaced". So, I had two strikes against me versus resolution from Betts! I called Amazon and explained the problem to them. They offered to replace the net; obviously, I declined that offer. They then offered to refund the purchase price, and sent me the label to return the defective net.I was on vacation at the beach when the net failed. However, I was able to order a replacement net (from a different manufacturer!)from Amazon, with free overnight delivery. Amazon was great in their handling of my problem!
