It’s good for a beginner or a break cue
I bought this to use as my “work cue” to keep in the car for days when one of my clients wants to play a game. It shoots straight (standard deflection shaft) and looks pretty decent.Pros: It’s a (at time of this review) $40 cue that shoots straight. The overlay graphics, while not the best, look reasonably good. It weighs in at around 19oz (a little over but I don’t remember the exact amount).Cons: While nice to look at, the outline of the graphics can be felt when touched. That’s either a thick graphic or a too thin coating of finish (I suspect both). The shaft does have a slight warp and the tip is way too hard!I think this cue is fine out of the box, but when my wife started playing with me at the local pool hall she took over using this cue as her “daily driver”.If you’re in a similar position, I highly recommend taking the cue to your local pro shop and have the shaft cleaned and smoothed as much as possible. If you can spend a few bucks to put a softer tip on, I promise it’ll play a lot better!I think this cue will really shine if you’re needing an affordable break cue. Right out of the box it’ll have a hard enough tip for most people’s break. So yeah, now you know way more than you ever thought you would about a $40 pool cue.
