A must have an the best for the purpose !!!!
I had had a RFN4 wireless cable release since one and half years. Lost the transmitter for the previous one and had to get a new one. Arrived on time. The things I like about it:1.Can be used from a very long distance (approx. 80 meters)2. You don’t have to point it to the camera (and look stupid) while taking self-portraits. Works fine even when you have your hand in pocket or behind the back.3. Multiple channels to avoid any interference with other photographers around using the same model (Tip: do not let it be in the default position. Most people do that and you will see your camera firing without you pressing the shutter release because someone else is also using the same frequency. Change it to some other setting4. I love long exposures and it supports the “bulb” mode5. Can be used wired or wireless as your need beWhat annoys me (but definitely not the reason not to use it):1. You have to plug the receiver on side of your camera (in mini USB port). This can be a hassle when you want to keep the camera in a bag and the danger of breaking the receiver or the port is always there (Solution: no big deal !! unplug it from camera before you keep it in bag)2. The slot for inserting the battery in the transmitter is very awkward and fragile. I always feel that I will break it. But then the batteries in the transmitter and receiver last very long!!!)3. Size could have been a little small and bot the receiver and transmitter should be made of a slightly better plastic not to say that they are very bad at present.4. Its very easy to forget switching off the receiver when you are done shooting. Therefore a mechanism to put it to sleep or switch off automatically after 15-20 mins of non-usage will be a good addition in future.Having said that, I must say that I use the kit a lot. Even when I am near the camera mounted on a tripod. Using a wireless shutter release helps avoid camera shake and vibration. This is one of those accessories, which every serious hobbyist should have in their bag at al times. And it will not disappoint if you have an extra pair battery in your bag (Personal experience: You may need them if you forgot to switch off the receiver after last shoot a week back;).

No work, no timer, no service
It worked then it died after 3 months with no warning. Sent it for repair and was told batteries leaked, well maybe don't send dollar tree panasonics next time? Sent it in with replacement batteries inside well that was a mistake. I was told they won't warranty it but I could buy a new one for $60. Great customer service this guy should win an award of some kind way to stand behind your product. I bought the Neewer 2.4gHz remote timer and have been very happy with it. It has more options and is much less expensive and better built. This one looks like something you could win out of a claw machine. Anyway I no longer have it after sending it in and was told to get it back I'd be charged as well. All I requested was to have it repaired for which they are not equipped evidently, moving on with a better timer.

Two units both failed in the same two places
When this thing is working it's great. It basically 100% mimics an actual shutter press exactly. No questions about whether it will perform certain functions or worrying about being downwind from the camera. Pressing the button on the remote functions exactly the same as pressing the shutter on the camera. That means it works for bulb, continuous shooting, etc etc. However there are two points of failure in this thing, and in two separate units I reached those same two points of failure. The first is the clip on the bottom of the receiver that goes into your camera's hotshoe. It is weak and will break off. If you don't lose the receiver when this happens you may be able to superglue it back together, but you'll never get the same functionality as it originally had.The second is worse as it renders the unit entirely worthless. The cable that comes with the unit is a really cheap piece of junk. In both of my units, it failed after about 6 months. That means no power to the receiver which means nothing functions. You can use the remote, you can't even manually trip the shutter on the receiver.Again, in two separate units both of these points failed on me. Unless you want to carry a spare set and repurchase one every 6 months, don't bother. It's a shame because when it is working it is great.

remote shutter release
this remote works well with my Nikon D 90, --needed a release that can be operated from behind the camera as well as in front --haven't used it enough to really give it a 5 star rating

Excellent Best I have bought yet!
I have tried two other remotes one on a wire the other wireless. They both were less and did just that. I am so happy with my purchase of this remote. It was so easy to figure out I didn't need any instructions, didn't even need to go into the menu of my Nikon D7100 as I have with other remotes basically plug in and play! I'm sitting in my office looking out the window while hummingbirds land on my feeder I have my Macro 105 right on top of them and the shots are amazing! Remote also doesn't shut off automatically so 20 minutes can go by before I fire a shot! Works at great distance!! I absolutely Love it! Looking for a reasonable priced remote this is it!!

Works great
Easy to use. Has good range. I do a lot of night photography, long exposures and it's nice to be able to do it from my car. Its been cold an haven't had any problems. Quality is good for what I need it for.

Works perfectly on D7000
I have been using this product for over a year and it is still on its original batteries! This came highly recommended from several photographer forums, and it has not disappointed. I use it for self-portraits and all my tripod shooting. This works much better than the inexpensive Nikon Wireless remote ML-L3 (didn't always trigger the shutter release) and is absolutely worth the price premium.
