The directions say to drill the holes 2 inches from the bottom of the bucket if you do that the bottom of the cups will break off if you put the bucket on a flat surface works fine if you put the bucket up a few inches but it mentions that nowhere in the directions glad I figured it out

I live in the desert and these work perfectly for ensuring that my chickens are getting their water for the day. Installation wasn't difficult if you know how to work a drill. I haven't noticed any leakage. I think if I do I'll just add some caulk. Cheapest option out there when you consider you can attach to a 5 gallon bucket

There's supposed to be a black tube piece that makes a 90°sngle towards the water vessel, so that, according to the instructions on the bag, you can place the waterer 2" above bottom to prevent clogs from sediment. Well this confuses me on multiple levels. First of all, why were pieces pictured in the item listing missing, making the product unusable? Also, why would there be sediment? Is there backflow expected to occur? If so, then this product would contaminate the watering the vessel, also highly undesirable.Update: the replacement set was sent out immediately, and contained all pieces.The waterers were easy to install. I didn't have the specific size drill bit that was recommended in the instructions, mine was a step to small so I just swirled the bit in the hole to widen it a hair. I checked the watertightness and everything worked as expected. I am awaiting a logistics move of my new flock into a larger brooder so I can upgrade their water vessel to my homemade version.

I like that I can add it to a 5 gallon bucket or 10 gallon trashcan and put in inside the fence or poke it through from the outside.

The media could not be loaded.  These things are very easy to install and it’s right price also. Things that I do like about these is the little floating lever in there they do not leak like the other cups the ones with the tickler in there and then we’ve had to others that at least especially around the base but these come with the wing that’s on the back and makes it very easy to install and cuts down on leaks as well. They’re very easy to clean just take it spray with a garden hose and fill your bucket and you’re done. Thank you again for a good quality product.

The watering cups are exactly what I expected when I received them and using them in a 1 inch pvc pipe was pretty challenging (probably won't do it this way again). Once I figured out how to get a tight fit into the pvc pipe I hooked the pvc pipe up to a 30gallon water tank which provided adequate pressure for water to fill the cups up... i'm not sure if you could connect this to a hose, it would probably be too much pressure.With this set-up, I could go over 6 weeks without filling up the tank (17 chickens drinking from it). The only issue i have with this set-up is that the cups fill up with dust and debris from the chickens beaks (left over feed, dirt, etc.). Every week I had to go out and pour water into the cups in order to flush out the dirt. Because of my set-up this was the only way to clean it. I could not remove the cups or turn them upside down because they were secured to the pen.I have since taken down these water cups and replaced them with the nipple style waterer. They appear to be more sanitary so far and the chickens figured out how to use them in no time.

Chickens had no problems,No more poopy water.

I liked that the chickens didn't have to peck at them, since that eventually chips away at the yellow plastic parts. Although I have a warmer in the bucket, once the cups fill up they freeze.

Bought these in a pack of 4 and 3 of the 4 don’t stop filling up total waste of time and money....AVOID!!!

Came extremely quickly.The waterer work very well and my hens took to it right away. The product had reasonable instructions and it was installed quickly.I recommend this waterer, it looks strong and we'll designed. Works well.

I installed it exactly as instruction said. The floating device does not stop the flow of water. I found them all overflowing with water spilling out after one night. All 4 in the pack are the same and don't hold water in at all.
