Neon Electronic® MCB1584-05 Micro Hi-Fi System with Bluetooth CD/MP3 FM/AUX

Unboxed our Neon Micro Hi FI today, bought after liking it's look price & the revues. First impression, a well packaged little Hi Fi, came out of it's box in perfect condition. Easy & quick to put together, it is looking very attractive on our unit.We were a little baffled by the speaker connections, obvious on the rear of the amplifier, but the instructions for connecting the wires to the speakers, had us wondering ?. The answer is to screw the plastic black & red nuts up, as far as they will go, they will not come off. Below the nuts there is a small hole in the brass thread. In goes the end of the speaker wire, gently tighten the nuts to trap the wire, job done. Maybe it was just me. I would strongly advise, when setting up the FM presets, to program radio stations AUTOMATICALLY. This works a treat. We got a bit lost, trying to manually preset the stations !. Luckily, the auto method overrode our manual settings. It is early days, but if this outfit keeps working as it is at the moment, it will prove to be a little gem. The sound is amazing for it's size & price, it has a very nice overall finish. A quality looking piece of kit. We are delighted. We Have an FM roof ariel, way up above the house & worth every penny. perfect reception. How this receiver would work with the supplied antenna, i cannot say. The CD player worked well when testing & the sound quality was very good. As i say, it's early day's, but i am feeling confident.

Really impressed by the sound quality from this small budget system. Crystal clear high and midrange frequencies and more than adequate bass (even without the loudness boost at low volumes). All genres of music from classic through blues r and b pop and electronic to heavy rock reproduced as well as by much more expensive systems. Would have been nice to have had DAB radio but hey!

This compact system arrived within 48 hours of ordering, in perfect condition. It was well packed. The system was child's play to assemble and the user manual was well written and easy to understand. Note to the author of the user manual:- the illustration showing how to secure the speaker cables into said speakers was too small to be of any use at all - just make that illustration twice as big. The sound quality, playing music from CDs/USB sticks, is superb with fabulous clarity and more than sufficient bass. I enjoy a wide variety of musical genres and they all sound wonderful through this system. The radio auto tuned OK and found the stations it needed to. I only listen to Radio 4 on radio so the system is primarily for playing music from CD and USB stick. I am very satisfied with this system.

Delighted with this system. Well made and looks great. Sounds amazing, much clearer than more expensive systems I have owned. Worth every penny and more. The only drawback for some people could be the lack of DAB radio but for me the FM reception is great. Would highly recommend.

I've already commented but bad comments appear to get lost. The first one I received had a faulty laser on the cd player and kept jumping on some tracks. The replacement had a faulty left channel which had virtually no volume. I returned that and as expected, got no response from the supplier. I then ordered a Sony. Very please and in future will stay with names I know.

This system is excellent value for money. However it wouldn't support my 6th generation iPod classic.

This Micro System is the "mutts nuts". I deliberated for ages between this and a Pioneer system. I purchased a USB lead with 3.5mm jack to attempt to play my iPod Classic through it,but it's unsupported. However I purchased a lead with RCA connections, with a 3.5mm jack for the Ipod dock in order to connect the iPod. It plays OK through one of the Aux connections. It has a clear crystal sound, the radio is easy to tune in, and it has a clock and wake up facility. I could write reams and reams on this system but you won't be disappointed plus it was £50 cheaper than an Amazon rival auction website. I would consider this a very good purchase indeed.
