As my old slippers were getting frayed and torn I decided this time instead of buying the usual soft slippers that wear out after a few years, to instead buy a pair of leather loafers that will hopefully last a decade indoors. These should do the job, although I'm sure there will be dozens of others just as capable. The one-star reviews are probably fair from the perspective of someone seeking an everyday outdoor shoe: the rather plasticky sole would probably wear out in a few months of walking outside. And they look more like faux leather pvc than the real thing (they ARE apparently real leather; they just don't look it). But as indoor slippers they probably beat regular slippers hands down for durability. They're also quite comfortable with good cushioning, again in the context of a slipper rather than an outdoor shoe. I got the cheapest colour available at the time (brown, 45 quid). This is probably about right in today's economy (they would probably be about 25 quid in the pre-lockdown economy). Recommended purely as slippers. For an outdoor shoe, I would spend at least double, and get something half-decent.

I have finally succumbed to the dreaded move towards slip on shoes, which as a 68 year old, I feel entitled to trial, despite being as fit as a bloke 20 years younger. I like Clark’s, shoes as they are comfortable to wear as. They are well designed and use quality materials. These shoes are not stylish as such, but they serve the ideal purpose for me as I want shoes for “knocking around”. Something easy to get on and off, comfortable to wear, relatively light yet durable; the sort of thing for nipping out to the shops in! Decent shoes, good price via Amazon and ideal for the what I want them for as a day to day item of footwear.

These are great shoes, if that's your style. This is the second pair I've bought. Fit like a glove .

I wanted a slip on loafer. These fit the bill perfectly. Good fit and easy to slip on (and off). They are light to wear and didn't require a long 'breaking in' period. Comfortable for walking and to wear for driving. Ideal everyday casual shoe.

Happy with these shoes. They're so comfy and light weight. The shoe however probably wouldn't have a long lifespan walking outdoors in them but maybe I'm wrong. I'm stood in these for 10 hours at work on carpet and they've been a pleasure the wear so far.

I have never purchased any shoes other than Skechers from Amazon (or any online retailer) because the fit of any other shoes is a crap shoot. But the insoles of Skechers seem to crush down to nothing in 3 months any more, and I needed something more supportive. I decided to order these shoes and a pair of Dr. Martens (never owned either before) based on the reviews. The Doc Martins were as solid as an old Buick, and almost as heavy, and they fit perfectly. These Clarks shoes fit equally well, and were far more comfortable. They are lighter in weight, but certainly don’t feel cheap or poorly made. The soles on the Clarks are definitely more flexible, and I need some decent walking shoes when I go on vacation in a few months. I expect that the Dr. Martens would have lasted longer, and would have been ok once broken in. I plan to condition and waterproof the leather on these Clarks, then wear them around the house for a couple of weeks. They look really nice, and are already very comfortable. My only issue is the same one I have with all shoes: I don’t think the insoles are very supportive, and I doubt they would last long. Even so, I’m not removing any stars for this. I need to use orthotic insoles anyhow, and will get a new set for these shoes. The Dr. M’s would have required the same, but I returned them. These Clarks shoes will suit my needs better.
