Luminox makes good tactical watches, and the ICE-SAR Arctic Blue definitely doesn't disappoint. It's hard to see the textured dial in normal lighting, but it looks great under 10x magnification! The anti-reflection coating doesn't seem to work very well. The rubber strap is really comfortable and just the right thickness to suggest it will last without being too thick. The CARBONOX™ case seems sturdy and makes the large 46mm seem lighter than many 40mm stainless steel watches. It's so light you might not notice it's there. The sapphire crystal feels heavier than the case, but both seem durable. And, it's a Luminox, so of course the luminous indicators near the hour indicators show well in the dark.PROS: Light, comfortable, easy-to-read, sturdy - everything you want in a tactical watchCONS: Might need more anti-reflection coating

Im writing a review because the reviews here seem to be mixed (some good some not so good). I’ve never had a Lumi Nox watch before but have looked at them for years and like the concept that they continually glow so you can read the watch at all times. So in purchasing this watch I wanted a simple analog watch that is light weight, easy to read and rugged, and that’s what I got. Visually the watch is easy and quick to read, it’s a nice size, all the hours are numbered, and the hands are quick to see.It is a plastic (composite) watch so it’s very light and doesn’t feel as substantial as a metal watch, but that’s what I wanted, I have a few metal watch of the same size and they often feel too heavy to me. I don’t want to say this watch feels cheap, I think a composite watch just feels less permanent than a metal watch, but I’m good with that because of the weight savings.Regarding the glow in the dark feature- at first it struck me as not as bright as I’d expected, but after I got used to it I like the glow level and I really like that I can wake up in the middle of the night and clearly, quickly tell the time, this is what I was looking for.Some of the reviews complain about the band, I like the band but it’s not huge and I could imagine if you have really big wrists it might be small. I think I have about average medium wrists for a man and it’s right in the middle for me. It has some kind of fabric stitched onto the rubber, which I could see wearing out over time, but I like it so far.I saw some reviews complaining about missing instructions, but mine came in a nice box with instructions (although I don’t think you need any for such a simple watch) everything was new and nice.I’ve only had the watch for a week so I can’t speak to its rugged-ness but it appears to be solid and well made so I don’t expect problems.I paid $299 for the watch and From looking elsewhere this seems to be a good price. I’m happy with my purchase and got what I wanted with this watch.

I've had this watch for 18 months and loved it. Recently one of the lugs broke and I sent it to the Luminox repair center. It has been radio silence ever since. I'm getting ready to file a claim against them. NOT a positive experience. Manufacturers should support their customers, period.

This watch is good looking and despite its large face is very light in weight because it’s not stainless steel. The glare free blue face is great. The band is comfortable and, hopefully, durable. On the down side, the primary function of any watch should be the ability to clearly see the time at a glance. The most prominent hand on this watch is the second hand. The hour and minute hands are secondary and, depending on the light, can be difficult to see. I would make them all white, not red with white tips. The bezel is cosmetic since it doesn’t turn/rotate rendering it useless. I’m a former Air Force Aircrew Life Support Specialist and Search & Rescue volunteer. For those purposes I want a watch that is all business, not just jewelry. I want to see the time at a glance, and the use the bezel for things like timing tourniquet applications, respiratory responses to medications, etc. The other big question: for the money does this watch meet the expectations of a Luminox branded product?

I worked in nuclear energy R&D for 39 yrs. So I respect and appreciate the proper usage of such important technological materials. The tritium luminescence was, for me, a must have feature.Please also consider marketing T100 lamination too.

Great looking watch and easy to glance & readMust have a larger band. The second loop doesn’t stay on the end of the strap. It’s just too short when I where it.Offer a longer band that is longer on both sides of the watch - not just a longer band on the notch side ! The watch face still needs to be in the center of my wrist when worn.Guarantee I am NOT the only person that needs a longer watch band for this watch.Love the watch. It's a very good and accurate watch which is exceptional in the dark. My only gripe is that I would have preferred a slightly longer strap. No-one seems to make them long enough for the larger wrist.
