Inogen OneG4 Hip Bag

It’s a little heavy and big.
It’s a little bulky and heavy for older women. If using and your in and out of a car it’s a little much to put on and off my mother all the time. For younger people that’s doing outdoor activity this would be fine for that.

bulky
The only thing I like is that its a fanny pack. That being said it is bulky, heavy and stiff. i will keep it to use when I have to, but i don't recommend .

A nice bag to keep your concentrator safe and out of your way while in use.
I do not use oxygen 24/7 but rather use it when I exercise or do chores around the house.Wearing the G4 concentrator on my shoulder was a serious pain in the rear. It would continually slip down when I had to bend over for something and be banging on things which was neither good for the concentrator or the things it was banging against. The hip bag is well made and sturdy. The first few times I put the concentrator in the bag it was quite a chore. A little patience and finesse came in handy. Each time I have removed and replaced the concentrator from the bag it has become easier and does not present any sort of problem. The hip bag has some sort of semi rigid plastic plate in it which distributes the weight of the concentrator over a larger area and makes it more comfortable overall. It has suitable padding to keep it from digging in to your back.I am a 6 foot tall, 175 pound male. Wearing the concentrator in the hip bag is far preferable to the shoulder method. The concentrator is safe and out of the way and doesn't hinder my movement in any way. I actually bowled a few games with it on with no issues.I had a G3 with a back pack and I'll take this over that any day. I would make this purchase again.

Oh yeh, mom loved it!
Just what we needed. My mother had a backpack and O2 tank for a year. Simple backpacks as you know pull down on your shoulders and fall to one side as you bend over or move around. You can secure them with hip straps, but there aren't many good options for backpack or fannypack O2 tank holders available. Someone needs to make a hip pack that comfortably secures small O2 tanks for people that can't get Medicaid to provide portable O2 concentrators. I don't know if we would have spent the money on an Inogen if there had been a perfect padded hip pack available for O2 tanks. O2 tanks are supplied with Medicare and portable O2 concentrators are expensive. We need an O2 hip pack!I bit the bullet on the Inogen G4. Bam! - big difference. She cuts grass and does yard work (4 acres). She loved the Inogen and this backpack was worth it to get rid of the backpack. The padded hip pack frees up your arms and works great. Yes, it is pricey, but they do have a limited market and there aren't any other options that work perfectly.People rightfully complain about the tubing kinking. The tubing suppliers should really fix that issue by a better design - reinforced or tubing attachment support. It seems so simple to fix, it should not even be an issue. We use an ID card clip. Loop the tube in a 4 inch circle at the attachment point and then secure it with the ID clip.

Bulky waist straps with minimum storage.
As with their backpack, I think that Inogen really missed with this product. It is not comfortable to wear as the waist strap is wide and stiff. And not easy to put on and off. The interior molded plastic part fits the concentrate so tightly that two of us could not get the concentrator into the waist pack. Seems like a big problem as one is going to need to take the concentrator out to change the battery at least every two hours. (Since the batteries do not seem to last as advertised.)And the storage pocket is tiny. At least that pocket could have a gusset. The 2 pockets on the waist straps are needed for the canula and spare battery. I did not try the double battery with this item but it did not look like it would fit. Again, you can do better than this, Inogen. Perhaps some of your extensive advertising budget could be spent on product development including testing on real people. Offering only one size for both men and women is ridiculous. This applies to your backpack and hip bag. You offer such minimum info on your products on this Amazon site. Not helpful. This applies to both the hip bag and your backpack.

Not a good bag.
The only good thing I can say about this bag is the storage pockets are good! The construction is very stiff I tried wearing the concentrator in the front and in the back. Both ways my lower back hurt. Really disappointed since i had hoped to be able to be more active with this bag. Going to return it.

Mobility!
It has made it so easy to get in and out of vehicle. Can slide it to the right and buckle up. Can slide to center while shopping, walking. I hated getting in and out of the backpack. It was a tiring struggle when going multiple places to get weekly errands, shopping accomplished. I love that there are pockets for my keys, some Kleenex, etc. Better than all other options I have tried!!!
