I don't know much about steel tongue drums but this one looks great, seems well made, and comes with a nice and very handy carrying case. I do wish it came with some starter music or something about how to learn some songs. People say you can find info on the internet, but it can be tough. I spent hours looking for resources as I was giving this as a gift to someone who was new to this type of instrument. You can however just sit and randomly play it and it is very soothing and addicting.

Love this! I had purchase a smaller tongue drum (flatones brand) at the same time as this, to give as a birthday gift for a 7 year old. It was nice to be able to compare the quality and sound of the two. This was BY FAR, a better, high quality instrument. The sound is much clearer and deeper and the tones ring out for a much longer time. It is very relaxing and mesmerizing to play. The calm it brings is addicting. My cat also loves the sound of this drum and comes over to sit by me whenever I’m using it. Can’t recommend it enough.

I super love this drum! It's perfect for my music therapy group. I've been looking for a melodic instrument that's not to big to carry around and also not intimidating for adults with no musical experience.Also, my kids love it and it seems pretty indestructible...except that my 4yr old was waving the mallet around like a wand and created a portal to another dimension through which the rubber mallet head conveniently went through. Basically the rubber mallet head is not glued on, it comes off super easy, is now super lost and I have to replace it. Otherwise, it sounds and plays like a dream. I would recommend it to everyone!

I would recommend this item. This little drum is unique in appearance and tone. Pleasant tones that remind me of wind chimes or a kettle drum. Attractive enough to place anywhere as a decor accent and become a conversation piece. Simple and sturdy build that allows children to play with it. Although children should be supervised with the little hammers, and the solid construction of the drum could cause damage in the wrong hands. My wife first bought this for herself. She liked the drum well enough to buy a smaller version for our very young granddaughter. Both drums are being enjoyed. The only negative I can think of is the little numbers seem to come off easily. Perhaps etching the number into the finish would be an option, but I don't know. The finish on the drum is very nice and seems to be durable. I hope this was helpful for others as they shop.

Drum was as described, with a wonderful sound. There is no spot on this drum that sounds unpleasant, exactly what I was looking for. Can be heard just playing with hands, but the mallets give a nice resonance. Would purchase again, 100%

I absolutely love this drum! I bought two, one for me and one for my son. It is something that is both decorative for my office and is stress-relieving. I do not have a musical ear so the fact that it is pretty simple to use and does not take much ability is a plus!

I bought two. One for a holiday gift & one for myself. The sounds are so beautiful & calming that I feel more relaxed after I play it. I have no idea about playing music & I have no musical talent but that is not necessary. You just experiment & play the sounds that are pleasant to you. You Tube was helpful in learning more about this instrument.

I spent HOURS researching steel tongue drums and which to buy (or not buy) and I can honestly say that I am 100% satisfied with this one. We have only had it for two months but it's a great addition to my family - from my 2 and 3 year old kids to myself... we love the sound, love the look, and enjoy playing this on a daily basis.
