MTGL Sink Strainer 1.5 inch

I have tried a few strainers over the last few months all of which did not fit or the hair just went straight underneath and into the plughole. My last strainer was the same as this and lasted about 5 years so I am expecting this one to do the same! It works brilliantly and the hair stays inside the strainer....... very cheap and does a great job. I don't know if this will help anyone with the fit but my bathroom basins are both Armitage Shanks and this fits perfectly.

This is very flimsy and quite small. It does fit into the plug hole and does catch hair, but it has already cracked and have only used it a few times. Would recomend buying a better one as this won't last long so you may as well spend a little more to get a better quality. It is very thin plastic. I wouldn't buy this again.

This is a replacement for a previous one of exactly the same type but this one is slightly larger and fits perfectly. The only issue I have is that it is very light and probably wont last, same as the previous one, so next time I will probably try and get a steel one.

This was very reasonably priced and it arrived really quickly. It definitely does the job. I noticed some reviewers complained that it was plastic (although it looks like metal) but if it was metal it would probably scratch the sink so plastic is better. I don't clean it with the harsh chemicals that I use on the sink I just give it a quick clean with liquid soap. A good little gadget.

Silver coloured plastic, it's too light & floats up and out of the plug hole when water is run. Doesn't catch bits of food in the sink because of this and the fact it is too small. Should have paid a bit more for something better...

We have been through many sink strainers that simply prevent the water from running out and don't do the job. We used to have an awesome one which mysteriously disappeared one day. Couldn't find the same one and tried many others. This is the first one that actually lets the water drain whilst catching stuff and because the holes are that much smaller than most, they don't let as much debris through. Was a bit worried about it being plastic but we've had it for about a month now and it's working a treat!

Put in the sink in the garage and catches everything that it should - pack of 2 and very cheap. Fits excellently, don't know how old the sink is (at least 50 years old) but looks standard size to me
