Comfort when you need it
With bilateral proximal hamstring tendon tears, I needed the best cushion with holes available. And this is it! The larger size of the holes, their distance from each other and location make all the difference. Might be more expensive but thought was put into making this product!

Have had this since 2019, and it's been a godsend
I originally ordered this five years ago, age 67, for a case of "ischial bursitis" caused by pseudo-gout. In other words, something that feels like gout of the sit bones (only one sit bone, in my case). OUCH. I ordered this in desperation, since sitting was really excruciating (just try to sit on one sit bone!). It arrived and it completely solved my problem -- even on already-cushioned surfaces, the cut out holes exactly at the sit bones were an immense relief. After that I would use the cushion frequently, but not constantly; I'm now 72 and have significant lumbar degenerative disc disease -- and the cushion helps, particularly on hard surfaces. In fact it's best on fairly hard surfaces. Softer, more cushioned surfaces, at least for me, don't require it -- except as noted above, when your problem is located exactly where the holes are.For the past year, I've been struggling with another strange affliction: meuralgia paresthestica, which in my case causes nerve pain from my lower back wrapping aroung the flank/hipbone, down through the groin and thr outer side of the front of my thigh. It's impossible to sit on anything that isn't heavily padded, and I take this with me everywhere we go. Again, a godsend. One of the things that has made this work for me is that it is well-constructed, obviously using a high-quality memory foam that is dense and cannot be "sat through." It fits me well; I'm tall (five ten) and slender, but my frame (hips, that is) is of pretty average size, so it will likely fit a reasonable range of average-sized people. In fact, I believe that it's a very good ergonomic design. And thoughtfully, the design includes a handle, making it easy to carry. At first I thought I'd have to loop an arm through one of the holes, which would be awkward, but the handle is easy to grab but doesn't stick out or catch on anything. All in all, I'm very glad to own this cushion.

Not Super Comfy, But Does Somewhat Alleviate Visible "Sit Bone Bruising"
My hubby frightened me when he discovered two rather large visible bruises; one on each side of my lower "tush". I had no pain, therefore no idea anything was amiss until he produced for me photo documentation of the bruising. After some research, I discovered an unusual new phenomenon that home health nurses were seeing in patients with limited activity and seated confinement. For lack of a proper clinical name, they nicknamed it "recliner butt". Astonishingly, the photos correlated well with my general disposition and situation. With a long history of chronic lower lumbar, sciatic pain, and diabetic neuropathy, I have been sleeping in my well worn recliner for over a decade... alternating with waking hours all too often spent seated at a keyboard and/or in front of a sewing machine. So, with onset of this strange new physical "malady", my search for a "good" seat cushion commenced. After months of trial and error with different cushions, fabrics, contents, etc , nothing seemed to address the strange bruising. It appeared that I was in need of a cushion that would comfort and cradle a particular area of my pelvis. (Apparently, the ischial tuberosity is a bone in your lower pelvis that absorbs weight when you sit. These are commonly referred to as “sit bones/seat bones” that can bruise and/or cause discomfort.) When I checked AMAZON for a cushion for this condition, I came across this strangely configured AYLIO SOCKET SEAT CUSHION with two smaller openings (to cradle the "sit bones"). There weren't many cushions offered in this configuration and/or size, so I bit the bullet on the high cost and bought it. To help substantiate the cost was the manufacturer's generous extended trial period and return policy for this product. The cushion arrived in good time, packed inside a nice sturdy box. It is well constructed; the top made of a strong "netted" design type vinyl material; the sides and bottom a more rigid "pleather" type fabric. Inside the removeable zippered cover is a nice quality memory foam. The front of the cushion has a slightly raised area for between the thighs; the rear has a cut out portion for relief on the tailbone. Although lacking a dedicated "skid resistant" bottom material on the cushion, I find minimal - if any movement at all on my chairs while in use. IMO, this is an overall nice quality product.I will say, it did take a day or two to adjust to the relative "firmness" of the cushion, but all seems well now. While utilizing it for sleeping in my recliner WAS NOT optimal (slept okay, but was aware of it's presence), I felt it might perhaps be a bit too small or firm for that purpose. It DOES however serve me well for hour upon hour of seated desk tasks (typing and sewing). After two weeks consistent use, my back seems LESS stiff and uncomfortable -AND- as I suspected, the bruising on each side of my tush has greatly diminished. Frankly, the only personal caveat I see with this product might be the overall width and depth of the cushion, which I feel could use an extra 1-2 inches to accommodate us "larger" framed folks. (Perhaps this would make the sides a bit more "forgiving" and thus, more comfortable for sleeping.)So, if you present with symptoms such as mine, I would say this unique cushion is worth a try. Although expensive, the manufacturer does offer an extended trial/return period. Of note: when I attempted to purchase a second cushion for dedicated use on our lower level furniture, I found that this particular "2 hole" configuration was no longer available, however the company did offer a slightly less costly cushion with one single hole in the center (although this one appears to be more suited for hemorrhoid relief). Perhaps with time I may be willing to give it a try, who knows?

Goodbye to pain in the butt when flying
I am a man with a healthy BMI. However, on long flights it used to be impossible for me to stay on my seat for more than an hour or so. Pain on my buttocks area would invariably develop to make my flight experience very uncomfortable. On long night-flights, it would be impossible for me to fall asleep. The Aylio socket seat changed my life for the better. Now, I carry it with me on every flight. On night flights, I conveniently place my socket seat on my assigned plane seat, put on my earplugs and eyes cover, fall asleep and wake up refreshed, shortly before landing when I fly from the US to Europe. I highly recommend this product.

Compared 4 different cushions: iHealth Fix, Janemiri, Aylio, Cushy Tushy
Pros & Cons of 4 different cushions:Aylio – about same density/firmness as iHealth, but holes are bigger so easier to line them up without thinking about it. Keeper.iHealth Fix – Firm cushion. Small holes mean you have to make sure you're on target. Aylio is better but more expensive. iHealth second best.Janemiri – Holes way too far apart even with adjustable strap. Curves make alignment even tougher. Would work for larger size person.Cushy Tushy – ONE side is much softer than the other. Sinks down on right side so you lean sideways. Softest, very comfortable, travel foldable. Maybe too mushy for decent back support. Poorly made.
