The Complete Guide to Sony's Alpha 77 II (B&W Edition) Review: The Sony A7R2 explained in detail - Very comprehensive book, this replaces the Sony owners manual. Not only explains the various menu items and button functions he suggests how to set your camera up. I don't believe if you are new to this camera you could get it right without this book. Lots of pictures and how too advice. I purchased the E-Book and was offered a free pdf download also, now I have it on my IPad and my computer. I have read almost the entire book, much of it before my camera arrived and worked hard with it to get it all sorted out. The A7R2 is an amazing camera, it i complicated, I don't know what I would have done without this book. Review: Great book for an advanced camera. - This is not a beginners book and it only brushes on photography 101 type subjects. On the other hand the A7r II is not a beginners camera so the content is fairly technical. The great thing is that Mr. Friedman does such a great job explaining all the cameras features and how to use them, that the technical information becomes very understandable. It's laid out in such a way that it's very readable (including a bit of humor to keep it from being too dry) and will serve at a great reference going forward.

This is a good reference guide when you just don't know how to ...
This is a well written guide to the Sony Alpha A77II camera. This camera has so many features and options that you will never know about just from the tiny manual that comes with the camera. This is a good reference guide when you just don't know how to do something with the camera. It has good photos and explanations in easy to understand terms.

A MUST for Sony Alpha 77 II Owners.
This is an excellent book that explains each menu setting and gives experienced recommendations. This guide reads quickly and I was surprised at how much more effective my camera has been since I've learned what a lot of the settings really mean. For anyone with a Alpha 77 II, this is a must-have because Sony's manual is next to worthless. ALSO: Note that after you receive you manual, Gary will send you a message that if you provide proof you have purchased his book, you will get a PDF file of the book that's in color. I've used the PDF far more than the book because a lot of the discussions are about color and B&W just provide the quality of illustration that color can.

Buy This Book If You Have an A77 Mark II
The most useful camera book I have ever purchased and it is much more than a rewrite of Sony's manual. Not only does Gary clearly guide you through the operation of the camera and its many features (I am moving up from Sony A65), he also give additional guidance and suggested settings that make the book so much more useful as a reference. A great tool for beginner/intermediate level photo fans. The book is recommended without reservation.

Extremely detailed and well written.
This book is unbelievable, and the fact that you get the ebook in pdf so you can take it with you in the field for reference is awesome. I am having a problem getting the Tip Cards from the bitly site referenced in the book however. Other than that, if you own this camera you need to own this book. Extremely detailed and well written.

Much much better than the manual
If you want to know how to use your Sony camera you can try to struggle through the manual, or you can let an expert guide you through the endless Sony menus. I mean that this thing has more customization buttons than a spaceship. I could have never have figured out what all of the setting do on my own. This book is a big step toward understanding your Sony. Highly recommended.

Best book on SONY A7RII
While back I purchased similar title by David Busch. Although it was better than original Sony manual, it can not hold a candle to this book by Gary Friedman. I have been using this camera for two years and every time I need to do something different it becomes a task to find correct menu and correct setting. I was shocked how easy it is to use Gary's book to find reference to anything you need. Also tip cards in appendix are great to print, laminate and carry with you in case you need to lookup something. Gary provides a PDF version of the book on request, so you can selectively print some pages if you wish. If you have Sony A7R2, you have to do yourself a favor and buy this book.

This is a quick and comprehensive way to get to know the ins and outs of this versatile and high quality camera. The author uses his own experience to guide you through various set ups to help customise the camera to suit your own needs, going much further than the manual can. This is a great help for getting the most out of this camera. Finally, it is set up in a way that allows you to dip in to specific areas when the need arises. Highly recommended.

Great tutorial for the Sony A77ii. Very informative and as a bonus you get the full colour version as a pdf when you send the author an email. Highly recommended!
