Good option, but bad instructions and advertising
BAD advertising! and instructions get this mount a "Its OKAY" review. The extension says 26.7, BUT that is from the inside plate maybe! From the wall it is 24" to center. This means if you have a tv that is 52" across (LG 55" diagnol), and need 26 inches of space to swivel 180 degrees, it will not clear it. You would have to get a smaller TV. The 1 Star off for that. The 2nd Star off is for the openings they provide and the lack of instructions for their use. They didn't clarify that the round hole is for all the component cables ONLY, and the square hole is for the Power plug. If you braced the studs with a cross support, this makes the job very hard to go back and correct as I have to. Everything was painted and secured bolted in, and then realized the cables need to be swapped. With a stud running across, we have to take the TV, Arm, and box out, rerun the wires and put everything back. The cable "management" will only work with the wires in this orientation, otherwise you will kink and or buckle the wires when you fold back the extension. The 3rd Star off is for the "cable management system" and a little off for the bolts that come with this. While the instructions say use hand tool, I still think the material could be a bit better. As for the cables, they are still exposed and still have to be careful about wires such as optical Toslinks and such. They could have made this more clean looking and more out of the way.Bottom line is that the TV now doesn't swivel both directions 180 degrees, yet there is no other TV mount that will in this price range (I think the Sanus is about $600, and Chief, using 2 parts is about that $ also). None that I have come across so far in the price range. So perhaps get a very thin bezel TV or smaller size..If I have to have it be all the way flat 90 dergee to wall. But, otherwise, I think this mount does the job rather well otherwise!
