Not a bad shutter. My wife likes how it looks on the house, so I guess that is the most important aspect. :)

After extensive research, we decided to purchase vinyl Perfect Shutters. The Perfect Shutters website has a list of stores where their product can be purchased, and that included Amazon. We needed shutters for two differently sized windows for the front of our house. The best price for one window was from Amazon, so we ordered it. Amazon didn't carry the size for our other window, so we ordered a Perfect Shutter from another company from their website list. Both were the same style in 14 1/2 width. One would expect that with careful ordering of the same brand, that we would receive matching shutters. Not so! The Amazon shutter is an inch narrower than listed while the other shutters are the expected 14 1/2 width. There are also some slight differences in design. We're hoping the windows are far enough away that no one else will notice, but we're disappointed that they aren't identical. Other than being too narrow, the quality and look is nice. They are easy to install for anyone with some basic handy skills, meaning I couldn't do it, but my spouse had no problem. You'll have to drill holes in the shutter. He put blue painter's tape in each corner and then measured accurately so that each hole was precisely where it should be. I then held up the shutter to the wall in place while he marked each spot through the holes and then pre-drilled into the stucco. Then we put the plastic fasteners in, and it was an easy tap to get them in. If you do it right, they won't break. My husband thought they were a great idea and once in place, they look very nice. This would have been a 5 star review if they'd been an inch wider as advertised.

The Good:The Cathedral top looks nice. The shutter looks like wood that has been painted. I ordered the burgundy (Behr paint makes a trim paint that matches PERFECTLY. It is called TwinBerry The number is MQ1-14. It is from their Marquee paint line.) These shutters are light weight plastic, and if they can survive the winter they will be a nice addition onto the house.The Bad:The mounting hardware is the cheapest imaginable. If you do buy these shutters you WILL need to pay an additional 30 - 40.00 for better mounting hardware. They give you long plastic screws, which when you try to install them, they self destruct. If they had been manufactured with a metal core they would have worked fine, but the company decided to take the cheap route and make them out of cheap flimsy plastic. Keep in mind these plastic screws are over 2 inches long so they are very flexible. They tell you to drill a 1/4 inch hole and push the plastic screws into the hole, but when you try they quickly bend and become unusable after that.If I had known this before I bought these shutters I would not have purchased them. By the time you add the additional 30.00 - 40.00 for better mounting hardware, that brings the total cost to around $100.00 for these shutters. You can do much better by simply buying a different brand. I need around 10 shutters for my house and the other shutters will NOT be made by this company. It would simply cost too much to mount them. Two stars because the shutters themselves look nice, but because of the price, and the fact that you have to go out and spend an additional 30.00 - 40.00 for better mounting hardware that makes these shutters a very poor value.

The shutters have immediately changed the curb appeal of our house. They were installed easily on our two story house in a couple of hours.
