Perhaps best left to the pros.
Homeowners: Careful. The flex and fittings are fragile, and if it's your first time there are plenty of places to go wrong. The gound bonding was also both a high hidden cost a and lot of extra work. That said, when installed properly it gets the BTUs where they need to go, passed city inspection, and I'm definitely keeping the 15 feet I didn''t use. When in doubt, black iron is still the way to go if you are not a professional.

Great pipe!
I assembled a dozen connections with this pipe and fittings and tested everything and not a single leak. Just follow the instructions and you will have good results.

Use copper and flare or compression fittings-this stuff is delicate but works.
Item came well packed but both ends were not protected with caps and the tubing ends were rough cut and unusable for installing fittings. The yellow jacket had several small tears. I suspect this was a customer return that they reshipped. I had to recut the ends and loose a bit of tubing but my wife had been without hot water for two days so I still saved the day. Compared to copper or iron this is delicate and the fittings require precise cutting and fitment. If I had to do it again I would feel much safer knowing I had heavy copper holding back all that gas with solid compression fittings. I went to great lengths to secure the home flex as the tube retaining system at the fitting relies on a small ring in the valley of the s.s. to seat and seal.. a hard pull on the tube could unseat it and cause a gas leak. Good product but easy isn't always the best. When I have time I will replace it with copper and sleep better.

Dangerous tubing
Dangerous item. I am a contractor and have been using similar piping for over 10 years. I had difficulty cutting the tubing clean. There is an obvious weld running the length of the tubing from manufacturer. I had to be very careful with the tubing cutter at the weld, it left spurs and flattened one end of tubing. Three of the brass couplers I used leaked and would not seal. I ended up replacing with a different style of coupler that uses an o-ring instead of the metal against metal. Of course the new coupler was twice as much money. I used this for gas line to 2 furnaces and 1 water heater. I also purchased a gas leak detector on Amazon for $20.00 and was surprised at how well it worked. It helped me to locate the source of the leaks rapidly.

Fairly easy, Take your time
This CSST did exactly what I needed it to do, Saved a LOT of time installing this instead of black pipe. Going around corners, over duct work and to thru joist to the outside wall (still used black to go outside) was a very simple undertaking versus the many angles and small fittings that I would have needed if using black iron. My biggest fear was breaking the brass fitting on the CSST when joining it to black. The fitting is over an inch so using a large crescent wrench I worried about over torquing it. But, as with almost anything gas related, PATIENCE is key. No leaks, no worries! If I had to do this all over again, I would use CSST without hesitation. Now I have the BTUs to my backyard to run the BBQ, grill and patio heater!

WRONG SIZE SENT
Description is 3/4" but received 1/2" tubing. my appliance requires 3/4".

a little too complex
very fragile in terms of having to tighten only one fitting while other must stay ridgid to not avoid gasket tear, one joint loosened after a week, a bit scary.
