Synthrapol Dye Remover 16 oz.

I have a Patriotic red, white, and blue quilt that I was putting in a quilt show. After quilting I washed it and squared it up to dry as I usually do. All of the fabrics had been pre-washed but the red bled onto the white and the quilt was totally dry when I saw it! I did a search online and found that the way to fix this was to put the quilt into the hottest water possible, add Synthrapol, and soak it for 12 hours. It worked!

I keep this on hand. Have not used it yet, but am prepared for any excess dye that needs to be removed from fabric that I purchase. If you dye your own fabric, I think this would be a must.

Used this to keep blue material from dying gold material on an already sewn garment when washed (both materials had been washed in hot water twice prior to sewing but a friend warned me it would continue for several more washings). The gold was only slightly dulled but kept from turning green.

I dye yarn, roving and other fibers with both acid dyes and food dyes. This works great at making sure all of the excess dye is washed out. There is no scent to it and it is gentle on my fiber, which I really like. A little goes a long way.

Perfect for washing fabric that you think might run and ruin your hard work. I use it to prewash fabric for quilting and it's especially useful for hand-dyed fabric. No scent or harsh chemicals. Takes just a couple of teaspoons per load in the washer. Better safe than sorry is my motto!

This stuff works great to get excess dye out of items after the dye and rinse process. Also very good to pre-wash the items before dying. Highly concentrated awesomeness; a little goes a long way.

Disaster struck when I machine washed beautifully dyed silk scarves as described. Colors ran and I ended up with brown. Heartbreaking.
