I like it, but it is not silent.
The manual recommends Carbon Zinc batteries, but I only had Alkalines, so it is possible you will have a different result using different batteries. I like the day of the week feature and the glow in the dark feature. The ticking noise is louder than other clocks I have used. I was able to muffle it for now using the styrofoam backing it shipped in, but I will need another solution before I can put it on the wall. I was impressed it arrived intact after a long trip from Shenzhen.Edit: the seller appears to have updated the graphic to remove the "silent" claim. Meanwhile I managed to find a carbon zinc battery at the dollar store (look for "Super Heavy Duty") and it cut the noise down considerably. I still would not use this in a bedroom unless a fan was running to mask the ticking.

Love it!
This is the best clock I have ever used for a bedroom and I am 67 years old. It's large numbers and hands are very easy to see in the dark but yet it gives off almost no light like other bedroom clocks that light up the whole room. If you want to know what time it is at night in a dark bedroom but without it lighting up the whole room and disturbing your sleep, then there is no better choice in my opinion than this clock, which is also very nice looking and easy to hang anywhere. Close to the bed or from a distance it is still very easy to see what time it is without being blinded.
