Short and sweet but everything I need to get started growing tomatoes.
I don't know anything about tomatoes or how I would even begin to garden them, but this book - despite not going into depth about everything- makes a good guide for a beginner like me. I live in Texas and the one time I tried planting tomatoes it wasn't successful. This book has me excited to try again!

good read had a lot of good info for Texas ...
good read had a lot of good info for Texas growers , I have found out it really pays to grow what can grow in your area and not try and plant things that are not used to the heat here in zone 8, and planting the right things at the right time in each growing season. cool crops when it is cool and hot weather ones when it is hot. So much to learn about gardening from soil to fertilizing and plant care.

I plan to grow tomatos since my family loves tomatoes and paying over $2.00 a pound is crazy . Has a lot of valuable info as well as a lot of interesting historical info on tomatos . I did not know tomatos originated in south america , then were taken back to europe by spain . Then from spain the tomato traved to england , and then finaly to north america quite a trip .

smart read
I'm an avid gardener and can never get enough information on the subject. particularly when it comes to tomatoes, my favorite garden bounty. I've lived in texas for the past 53 years, all over the state, and this book is the most comprehensive I've read when it comes to the soils and climates we have. yes, we have more than one, lol.

Not as helpful as I hoped.
I wish it included more in-depth information about identifying and trouble shooting the problems that plague tomatoes in Texas.
