Review: Best boot I’ve picked up in many years. - Love these boots. I was skeptical if they would be as comfortable as my Oakley Field Assault boots I’ve been buying the last 13 years. Would’ve bought another pair of Oakley’s, but desertcart didn’t have them in black, so I started looking for new possibilities. They’re still breaking in and almost as flexible as the Oakley’s are. The grip of the tread is superb in the field and urban environments. I’ve worn them in the snow the first day I got them and they did great. Even with the venting, my feet didn’t get wet, and they gripped well on ice from snowpacks. They’re warm enough for an active person and should be tolerable in the summer. I’m definitely happy with my choice on these Predators. They even lace up easily and they look great. I can wear these to hit the field, or clean them up snd hit the town at night. Review: Comfortable, protective boot. - I purchased these boots for hunting in Arizona two years ago. They have been an amazing piece of gear. They are very comfortable and run on the warmer side. The only times I’ve had any issue with wear and sores was when I used cheap socks and didn’t apply the proper pressure to the laces. With a small amount of water, the boots repel the water and keep your feet dry. I’ve used these boots in snowy weather and had no issues. In hot weather, these will make your feet sweat, but in the deserts of AZ, you often walk through cactus. Out of my group I was the only person not pulling thorns and needles out of my feet. I almost forgot. One of the most important things about this boot. The sole is made as one piece and does not have separation issues like many other boots that fall apart after rough hikes. This is a very tough boot.

Comfortable, protective boot.

New favorite boot
Worn them for about a month now. Super comfortable. Great traction. Hopefully they last a long time. 8 month update: I love these boots. I wear them fairly often and the sole shows very little wear. The upper will probably give out long before the sole does. I’ll buy another pair when these give up.

Nice boot, but..
This boot stands out for its impressive durability and overall build quality, making it a reliable choice for tough conditions and long-term use. The materials feel premium, and the construction holds up well with frequent wear, which speaks to its craftsmanship. However, one drawback worth noting is the toe box, which runs noticeably narrow and may feel restrictive, especially for those with wider feet (like me) or who prefer a roomier fit. While the boot excels in toughness and longevity, prospective buyers should consider sizing or fit carefully to ensure comfort.

Very durable and reliable boots
These are easily the best all around summer/hot weather boots built. They aren't meant for running marathons on asphalt or concrete surface so the lugs on the soles will wear out quickly if you are on hard surfaces all the time. Off road or hiking is where these boots excel. I've been through 3 pairs and still have no complaints.

My favorite boots for daily comfort, just don’t go for a swim!
I’m a land surveyor by trade. An average work week could have me from a dusty construction site, to climbing a 1500’ ridge in inclement weather (not fun). I’ve used boots and shoes from Keen, Merrel, Ariat , Muck, Danner, Salomon...you name it I’ve probably worn them out a time or two. I always come back to the S2V boots for two reasons: 1. They hold up incredibly well, and they hold up consistently across different models and years purchased. If I had a nickel for every time something made nowadays has “gone down” in quality! 2. The soles are pretty wide and flat, much more so than basically any other boot I’ve tried. I prefer this for a variety of reasons, but for me this makes for a much more comfortable boot to wear all day long. If you do not prefer a flat sole, these are NOT the boots for you. I’d recommend looking for sole inserts if you are set on these. My only advice to a would-be-buyer is that this particular model is a breathable, non-insulated, and non-waterproof model if you hadn’t gathered that from the product description yet. Best boots ever for hot weather. I pair these with another set of insulated goretex s2v for the cold months. if you’re looking for an all-weather, year-round boot this is absolutely not the one. These boots fit a niche for me perfectly, your mileage may very.

Rocky Boots
Best food I’ve ever bought! I was having ankle problems, but after wearing these for a couple days, I feel way more sturdy and supported. Plus the sole is amazing.

A long word of caution about sizing these boots.
*Update! 12W does indeed fit exactly like they should. Go up a full size from your street shoe size and if you're even vaguely wide footed don't even hesitate to get the wides. I have a 10.5 inch long foot, the size 12 insole leaves 1 inch of room from the tip of my big toe. For width I average about 4.5 inches wide across the ball and there's no room on the insole to either side, it fits exactly. In boot, it fits like a glove with only the tiniest bit of squishing but, nowhere near as bad as the 11s or 11.5s did. I really think Rocky needs to give inside sizing on these boots or at least insole sizing so you can compare without having to try multiple sizes. I'm glad I finally have a fitting pair, but geeze it wasn't easy to get to this point. So, first, these are comfortable, well built, and will last me a while. But dang is the sizing bad. I'm a US11 D to EE fit in pretty much every shoe and boot I own. So, that's what I ordered was an 11R. That was a mistake. They were tight in all the wrong places and too short. Second pair, 11.5 wide. Much better still a bit tight in the toe box but I can work with them. Best size I'm guessing, that would've fit like a champ, 12 wide. Do NOT order your street shoe size. Go wide and AT LEAST half a size up to get the right fit so you can wear them with anything resembling a normal sock. I don't know what last these are being made on but it's not standard American shoe sizing. Aside from the sizing problem they are good boots. The older ones still feel better but you can't get those anymore. This new style is thinner shaft material and the insoles feel thinner too. Come to think of it the old ones actually had the correct sizing too. Dang it Rocky boots, go back to the way these used to be built.

Great wide fitting boots
Sturdy boot with good quality components, the only issue may be the sole wearing quickly on concrete, though this is not its intended purpose.

These boots are not Shiney, they are Matt black.
In the pictures the boot looks Shiney but in actuality they are a dul black.
