A great yeast
Arrived quickly. Good yeast for wine making. Long shelf life. Like the metal and plastic packaging. Keeps the yeast fresh for a long time. Easy to use. Just great!

Excellent For Hand Bsking!
The 125G tins of Allinson’s yeast are my standard buy for bread making. But I think it’s essential to replace the plastic lid quickly every time you use it once you’ve broken the seal and opened the peel-back tin lid. I also recommend that once the tin is opened ….you should use the contents within six weeks or so to guarantee successful activation. However, I’ve only ever had one tin that failed when the yeast decided not to co-operate by re-activating! But that was a ‘one off’ and I thoroughly recommend this brand if you’re a keen bread baker as the results are really satisfying. Bread baking is so therapeutic! Rob.

Old fashioned yeast
Old fashioned yeast that needs to be mixed with liquid before adding to dry ingredients, which is what I needed for a slow rise pizza dough, and which I couldn't find in local shops.

Good frothing with this yeast
This is the other type of yeast that some bread recipes call for, dried active requires you to heat milk/water up to a certain temp 37c with a sweet additive, (molasses, sugar etc) then put your dried active yeast into the liquid and leaving until it froths up nicely! (Easy bake yeast is the one you add to your ingredients and then throw the liquid in to all the dry ingredients and mix then knead) this frothed up really well with molasses ( for rye bread ) it rose well in the first rising and really well in the proving stage too, well please with it, (tip you can freeze or refrigerate the stuff to keep it fresh for way longer than leaving it in your cupboard) beats using fresh yeast which is an art to use correctly.
