Does the job
Had these for a few months now. They do the job.Only negative is that the hooks for the laces are a bit fiddly and so doing up the laces isn't as easy as on some of my other walking boots. But for moderate hill walking they are fine.

Great pair of boots
Had Berghaus boots for years, but they needed changing. Thought I was doing the right thing by buying cheaper boots from elsewhere, but that proved to be a mistake. So I went back to Berghaus and I'm very pleased again.

Good quality boots
When i opened the box i thought they're were a great looking pair of boots. I'm normally a size 9 but one foot is ever so slightly longer than the other and almost all my shoes/boots area compromise once my feet warm up so i opted for the 9.5. I've never tried a half size before but i'm really glad i did. After a long walk i do find the insole a little hard under the balls of my feet (my reason for 4 star comfort rating) so perhaps i'll try and switch these out to see if it helps, they're certainly not uncomfortable and this is a minor issue for me, it may not be for you. What i really like is when its time to take them off, they're so easy to remove, I'm guessing because of the way the ankle is designed. Just so much better than all my previous brands of walking boots and the difference was instantly noticeable.I've walked early mornings through heavy dew on grass, through streams and muddy puddles and so far they've held up well with no leakage/wet socks. Coming down steep slopes i no longer get the toe pinch i was used to on my size 9's so if this is something you notice too, the half size is well worth considering.Overall I'm very happy with these and they're my first Berghaus boots.

They are not black. They are light grey.
Product description says black and red. They are light grey not black at all. I've only worn them one day but they are comfortable and very light.

Comfortable boots
These boots are so comfortable and look great too, I walk between 3 and 5 miles each day and after a couple of months wear they are still looking good.

Comment on fit and sizing
I've only received these today so this isn't a review but a comment on sizing. My feet are EU 42.5/UK 8.5 and fairly wide. Reading reviews of these boots suggested that they are very slightly narrower and tighter than some other footwear, and I sometimes need arch supports below my shoe insole, so I bought size 9. I think they're just right. With a mid thickness sock (and no extra arch support) I still have a bit of wiggle room in the toe box and the fit overall is snug and easily managed with the laces. I'm just padding about the house in them for the moment to get used to them so I'll use them properly later and add to this.Edit August 2023: these boots are a great fit and very comfortable. My feet love them and they love my feet.

Very comfortable.
Good cushioning, easy to slip on & off. I walk my dog in the woods for about two hours per day & find them very comfortable.

A good sturdy boot
My husbands had some of these boots for years so I knew they were a good brand. Bought some for my son this time. Sent for 11.5 and 12- needed the size 12 because of the narrowness of the 11.5. Always buy half a size up is my tip.
